Lamela just cannot stop giving the ball away.
yesterday he came on, and just started giving it away straight away. whats wrong with him?
he is a skllfull player why can he not just make a pass to the man's feet. he is a pain in the arseeee atm but I will give him the whole of next season then judge.
In Poch's formation the CM positions are key to anything good that we do. Why he persists with Paulinho in that position I will never know.
-------
he doesn't.
the guy barely gets a game.
Lamela, I don't buy this first season stuff. If it was Townsend playing like him, there would be a witch hunt.
He plays like that kid we all knew who thought he was Pele and would just try to dribble past players and lose the ball all the time.
Actually, I am doing the kid a bad one there, Lamela doesn't even try to dribble round, I've lost cout of how many times he runs straight into the player.
If Lamela plays, it seems like we are playing with 10 men.

So why did he get a game yesterday with other CMs fully fit..even i you discount Mason, It showed he rates Paulinho ahead of Stambouli and Capoue. Which I don't.
If you recall the other match against Liverpool. He brought on Paulinho for Mason ahead of Stambouli and Capoue.
Again correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Capoue and Stambouli have good games in the last matches they played. Certainly better than any Pauinho performance I have seen this season.

because we have 4 games in 10 days, one being a cup final, and Poch is using the squad.
its not as if he routinely plays !
Ok Chronic, lets hope you are right. But the fact that we didn't have a mach for 9 days after Liverpool and he still brought on Paulinho instead of Stambouli or Capoue suggests your theory is slightly wrong.
I'm saying there's clear evidence Poch prefers Paulinho to Stambouli and Capoue as CMs.
You seem to be arguing a different point. I'm not saying Poch likes to start Paulinho. I'm saying he prefers him to Stambouli and Capoue.
In my opinion the latter two are better CMs.

-------
I disagree. I think his pecking order is stambouli, paulinho, capoue.
capoue would be above paulinho if he didn't have that alleged falling out / attitude problem.
either way I think we can agree Stambouli should have started instead of Paulinho.
So I'm still confused why Paulinho started...unless he's going to play Stambouli and Mason vs West Ham.

Honestly I 'd be happier for Lamela to play upfront. somewhere he doe not need to pass much. Just tell him to create space for the shot and shoot....it's depressing, like seeing £30m burn before your eyes.
I thought Eriksen had a pretty bad game also. Disappeared not sure why. Maybe doesn't like playing with Soldado because nothing sticks to him. and Eriksen can't make runs off him like ehe does for Kane.
For some reason i think these combos 9 and 10 combo would work.
Kane / Eriksen: First choice
Soldado / Lamela: Second choice

He wants to much time on the ball, which invites pressure, which makes him rush what he's doing and give the ball away.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
he should have learnt by now to release the ball early. How hard is it? to not take more than two touches in the midfield.

Seriously his performance yesterday was embarrassing. The ease at which he gave the ball away was very schoolboy/amateur. I wouldn't expect that even amongst our youngest academy players.

He can do drag backs with his studs which is difficult with these new shiny balls
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Vertonghens drag back in our penalty box was crazy, entertaining but crazy.
Even Lamelas best moment exposed his weaknesses, as he only attempted the rabona because he has absolutely no right foot!
Lamela had been very good for us of late, against the Goonz he was excellent and he is improving all the time.
He puts a shift in for the team and suits Poch`s system.
One bad 20 minute sub appearance and all of a sudden he is `the worst player seen at Spurs` ffs, give the lad a break, he is just 22.
We should be glad to have a promising young player like Lamela at the club, I can remember the misery of players like Jose Dominguez, Andy Sinton and Grzegorz Rasiak pulling on the Spurs shirt ffs.
I think Paulie will be gone in the summer without a doubt but feel that Poch will keep Lamela, not so much because he is a good player but more the fact he is a fellow Argie, which for me would be a shame as I feel we need to cut our losses on him, much like we need to on Soldado.

I would agree with you if we were rich like City or Chelsea and we could afford £30m to take it's time to bed in and grow some B@LLs. But unfortunately we aren't.
