When teams press us we don't seem to have a good outlets esp in wide areas. That's where I like ox although his end product is poor. Against teams that press us I often think playing Goroud is pointless.
Theo on the wing with Welbeck moving centrally is a much better option
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Disagree - even if we don't really use it, Giroud gives us the option to bypass midfield and play it longer up to him to hold up, to deal iwth the pressing.
Also, Ox's end product is not as poor as people say.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No he doesn't Giroud has a very good box presence but he doesn't have the off the ball movement or pace to run the channels.

I'm talking about hold up play, not running in behind. And anyway, Giroud movement is decent, even if his pace is not.
Alexis such a brilliant baller

He tries to pick up the ball earlier because he isnt involved upfront.

Hold up play requires you to create a yard of space from the CB or even Ibra can't hold the ball up against two CBs. Thats why off the ball movement is vital for a cb to hold the ball up! The best at it is Ibra imo. And its great to watch what he does BEFORE the ball comes into his area for him to control.

A bit smash and grab...but who cares?
Easy tap in. Welbeck does it

Good pass by Alexis and great anticipation from Giroud...he's learning how to get into these positions recently!!
