Correct me if i'm wrong but did Wayne Routledge not get a red rescinded for something similar a while back.

Even if the 1st challenge is only a yellow, he done the same thing again later in the half.

I'm not into a FA conspiracy, but could you imagine the media witch hunt if a Chelsea player had made those 3 challenges.

Mourinho going on sky yesterday won't have helped his case,no matter if what he was saying was legitimate or not.

I see players pushing each other all the time. Costa put two hands up and pushed David Luiz only the other day, nothing was made of it.

Matic certainly used more force in his push than Costa did. Should that be the factor which changes the outcome? I think the FA and other footballing bodies have to be more consistent regardless...

As to the appeal. I don't think anything will be overturned. I don't think the ban will be increased. There are plenty of examples where a player has gone unpunished (or only a yellow) for something similar and bringing these up might shed some light as to what is deemed a sending off and what isn't when it comes to "pushing". It doesn't seem to frivolous to me if some good as a whole can come from it.

By recinding it they would be basically saying its alright to lash out if your on the receiving end of a bad tackle.

I think the case will be made that it should be 1 game not 3. FA do have the ability to change it to 1 or 2 games apparently.

Did Howard Webb not come out and say it was s yellow card offence because he pushed him in the chest? Let's face it players do that all game. It's a red if it's any higher.

The most frivolous appeal I can remember. Clearly violent conduct, he has no chance of having it rescinded. Deserves an additional suspension. Mourinho did the appeal to play the "victim" card, but the appeal belongs to the shredder.

I totally agree and for this reason it wont be rescinded.

But how often do we see players push and shove with just a yellow show (or nothing at all)

Its the lack of consistency in ref's this season that is the problem.
