Lamela and Soldado

Don't forget Paulinho for 18m
For the money, three abject failures, baldini should be sacked IMO

Villa fan in peace, dont shoot (apt words from a Villa fan)!

I agree with Soldado but I like Lamela! He is still young and I think he will come good, he was really good in Italy and maybe needs more time to adapt. I guess for the money you paid for him that you would want a quicker turn around on your investment though.

I've watched most Spurs matches he's played in. I can't see what he gives to the side, can't pass, dribble, shoot, gives fouls away, the ultimate fancy-Dan player really with zero end product. Nope I for one can't see him ever coming good for us but i wish him well in the future

That Baldini still has a highly paid role at Spurs after his shocking transfer dealings reflects very poorly on Levy.

Exactly ginger. Surely three of the worst signings ever to happen in the same window

What kind of fees can we expect for our golden/brown trio?

Maybe £8m for Soldado, £5m for Paulinho and £10m for Lamela?

They cost - believe it or not:
> Soldado: 26million
> Lamela: 30milion
> Paulinho: 17million

... and don't give me any of this 'add ons' conjecture. These are the figures that were announced at the time. That's SEVENTY THREE MILLION POUNDS. We got about 82million for Bale. So, add on Capoue and we've completely p1ssed the Bale cash on three of the worst flops in PL history.

Take a bow Mr Baldini. You've managed to be a worse DoF than Damien Comolli. And that's saying something.

The thing is just cos lamela cost us so much and is young, people keep saying "he's got potential and will come good".... absolute dog crap. he is just awful and if he had been cheaper or an academy prospect he would have been given up upon a very long time ago

lamela shouldn't be judged until the end of next season.

soldado is done though.

paulinho can go too.

lamela can go if a good offer comes in, but it wont.. so we should see how he does next year... this is really his first proper year... and he is young.. so that just about gets him off.

eh? its the other way round mate

if he was an academy prospect he would have been persevered with much more.. look how many loans mason and townsend had, and even Kane!

We need to rely on our Academy over the next few years. Get rid of our expensive, useless exports; enhance the squad with the likes of Pritchard and buy one or two very good players only. Probably sourced from the Premier League.

Yes, but if those three had all been hits, Kane, Bentaleb and Mason, all of whom Spurs got for nothing, would not now be playing. So really Spurs have had three flops who cost money, but have gained three real star young players for nothing. So it is not all bad.

The fees for Lamela and Soldado were made up of several performance related add ons etc, Lamela`s fee could rise to 30m euros if all the extras are triggered, so we will never pay more than around £23m for him, similarly with Soldado, his fee potentially could rise to £26m, but I doubt we will pay anywhere near that amount with the way his Spurs career is going. We will probably end up paying far less than the reported fees for those two.

The media likes report the total potential fees because it suits their agendas, for example we had SKY reporting Suarez cost Barca £75m, when in fact it was only £65m.

Never believe everything the media say or write, a lot of the time it is twisted to suit their agenda.

Or the flip side would be that Kane, Mason and Bentaleb would've been introduced earlier and the likes of Pritchard would now be squad/team regulars.

I wonder if Soldado wants to show himself again after last night, I should think not, too embarrassed I would think.

why rush Pritchard? he is doing nicely where he is.

hopefully Brentford come up and he can have another loan there next season this time in the prem.

he is coming along nicely.

Chronic - I agree re. Pritchard and his development. I'm just pointing out that I'd rather rely on the likes of Pritchard than buy another Paulinho.

So would I. But let`s be fair we were all jumping through hoops when we signed all those players. Anybody who says otherwise is a liar. Spurs are certainly not the only club that have been absolutely stung on overseas flops.

No levy doesn't have a crystal ball that's true
But baldini is paid to spot players and ones that will come good, especially for that money
Any fool can spend 73m on some flops. Baldini is paid to NOT do that!
