Will Monday game be a formality for United?

they know how to use a big pitch and we don't.

we usually lack rhythm when we play at Wembley too.

We'll play right in front of them and they'll destroy us on the wings like usual.

I swear if we start going kamikaze at 1-0 down i'll do my nut.

Yep they always beat us from the wings

Expecting Young to have a blinder

The Emirates has a huge pitch as well

It's really shocking what people do believe matters in that kind of game. History doesnt.

What matters if you have your best team available and what the players form is in that game. Anything else is just paper talk and bla bla bla...

...and yes the ref matters as well sometimes

To be fair on us. We often go into these fuxtures with a lot of key players missing . So I don't think all results have been a fair reflection. It's still not good enough, but injuries have hindered us massivley in these type of fixtures.

We still have a couple of injuries, but this should be the strongest team we could have named against them in a long while. So I am expecting a better performance. Another bottle job would be unacceptable.

This is exactly what I have been trying to tell some potheads on here all morning. If we lose it's because we were poor on the day, not because we also lost last year.

GT - Look at Real Madrid v Atletico - Atleti hadn't beaten Real in something like 15 years until last season - Just look at their record since. You don't think breaking the terrible run has been a factor in them having the upper hand psychologically since then, the CL final apart?

But we are poor in every game we play against them. Why is this?

Really? Sanchez and Cazorla are as good as what we've got, the rest
----------------------------------------------------------------------

9/11 better players, and below us in the table.

Very poor from LvG, no?

Agreed, will be remedied soon enough

Well we had a worse team for most of that run, no doubt about it (plus the Fergie factor). We don't any more.

Last year (it was last year wasn't it?) we were probably favourites going into the game and then had that stomach bug or something spread through the team the night before the game. That's the kinda thing that makes you throw your hands up in an exasperated fashion. Ironically the players who made it on the pitch did play as if they were shítting themselves too...

--------------------------------------------------
We have not lost every match we played against them so I don't agree that we have been poor in every match. In any event, and this is the point, whatever has happened in the past has absolutely no bearing on who will win on Monday. Every match is a new match and the better team on the day will win.

There are always opponents you have a negative record against or you dont like to play against (Stoke comes to my mind). It's the circumstancies under which you play that particular game.

RM may have a negative record against Atletico but they won the most important game against them that is the final of the CL.

I believe in "every negative or positive record" is there to break.

Only the individual performance and making no silly mistakes matters on that day. People forget as well that we might go for a draw. We dont need to beat them at Old Toilet which I personally would prefer. We have the better team and it looks like nearly the best players available for that game.

Not 1 in 15 worse, though.

In fact you look at the games and we've had a lineup at least equal to them on many of those occasions

Merts will cost us this game. Gabriel injury was a bigger blow than everyone is dismissing it as. Would've been key for United's mobility in attack and very key to us deploying a high line against Monaco to press for the goals we need.

I'd seriously consider Chambers alongside Kos but a right side of him and Hector together in defence could hurt us we need mental experience for this one

According to the BBC:
"Manchester United striker Robin van Persie will miss the FA Cup quarter-final against his old club Arsenal due to his ankle injury."

If Man United have so many WORLD CLASS players, why do they not win trophies and keep finishing below us

That's only happened once...

Well, in recent times anyway...

Just a heads up to Arsenal fans, don't listen to pundits. Man utd last 3 league games have been some of our most dominant football we have played since SAF left.

I have seen like 8 or 9 videos trolling us saying we are lucky doing smash and grab raids in our last 2 wins. Our chances created stats are through the roof last 3 league games, we have so much possession and shots its amazing. The sunderland game was rated I believe our 3rd highest performance score although it is a small indicator our bad accuracy in front of goal cost us. Swansea game was incredible domination 2nd half and on another day we would have scored 4 or 5 goals. Newcastle game another game we should have scored 4 or 5 easily. I would love us to sneak a 2-1 win against Arsenal then hammer Tottenham 6-0 then beat Liverpool 4-1 at Anfield.

This game is a foregone conclusion u will be in the final with pool.

not a chance. arsenal will win and win big. no hafi stats will cover man ures weak play. they are just too slow and boring.

montleeds Man utd can't hit a barn door hence pundits keep saying Man utd are playing badly. I am honestly shocked how LVG has transformed Man utd from the Moyes Man utd of hope for the best tactics to us making teams run scard of us again and hoping for an odd long ball. Bit like SAF era.

Newcastle game we had the most clear cut chances. Could easily won 5 or 6-0.
