I would be tempted to play Dier & Fazio.

For me their major weakness is at right back. I'd 100% go with the front four that started both Chelsea games, and Rose.

Chelsea shackled us in the second game, but with a well-drilled back four, us having a midweek trip, and them playing a very defensive midfield.

In the first, we exploited their right side ruthlessly, and their very able back four got pulled all over the shop. United won't sit back against us, I feel we have the chance to wreak havoc

I'd keep the back four as it usually is. The Neanderthal isn't going to be too sharp. Dier is a strong lad, I'd rather see him go toe to toe with Sideshow as he is match fit.

The only one for me is Dembele or Mason. I'd probably edge towards Dembele, but wouldn't mind either

I don't think Poch sees Dembele as a CM anymore tbh

Take your point in the CBs it's just Verts annoys me

I would drop one of Chadli or Townsend and play Dembele though

I would stick with Dier and Verts. I have heart palpitations whenever Fazio plays.

The only change that I would make would be to play Dembele instead of either Chadli or Townsend.

As for tactics, I think we should play high tempo, high pressing as we did against both Arsenal and Chelsea in the league successfully.

Whilst I'm not getting carried away, I think Man U should fear us more than we should fear them, so let's play to OUR strengths.

With ADM out I don't see how they can hurt you if you press high as they lack pace.

The thing is in away games like this Spurs need to learn they don`t actually need to win. They just need to avoid defeat, and that would be deemed a good result. They played well at Liverpool, but just did not know how to shut up shop at 2-2, the same at Arsenal after going 1-0 up, the same in the League Cup Final, where they were the better side for most of the first half, and should have just seen out the first half, and then said to Chelsea second half, OK if you want the win, you come try break us down.

Me and my pal Immediately said Fazio earlier when discussing yesterday's game and Fellaini . I think he'd eat Fellaini up, but if he drops off and they push others on he is suspect.

I'd certainly keep Townsend in, just so Walker can stay disciplined.

I really fancy us to be honest. He's got a good 8 days to prepare for it, we are fully stocked, fully refreshed and for as a fiddle

For me Dembele either plays at the head of the CM 3 or not at all. His strength is his strength and his ability to carry the ball. He destroyed Utd for Fulham just before we signed him, playing in that very role.

If he is one of the sitters in CM, then he gets the ball in deeper positions, his dribbles then become more risky and he has more players to get past. Much more effective further up the pitch IMO.

Also if he sits and does break forward, who drops in for him into the hole he leaves it wont be Eriksen.

Chadli's form has not been that great since his compassionate leave and we need to be a bit more solid at OT

Same team as at LFC, for me. Maybe Townsend in for lamela. He'll be on a high after scoring and has been far more disciplined and less greedy in recent weeks and will be running at Rojo, who aint the quickest.

Imagine selecting Fazio to counter Fellaini only to find he's been dropped for Mata First minute sub for Dier

I am more hopeful than in many a year at getting a result. Which will only mean 1 thing.

Defeat

What is their likely XI?

De Gea

Valencia...Jones...Smalling...Rojo

Blind...Herrera
Fellaini

Mata....Rooney...Young

Devonshirespur last time man utd beat Tottenham was in the 11/12 season. Maybe Man utd losing to Arsenal at OT will mean we can break hoodoo and get 3 points against Spurs.

I think their best side on paper is as above but Mata behind Rooney and Januzaj out wide (usually ADM)...but those 2 offer little in the way of hard work and would leave them open in the middle and out wide.

We have much better balance than them, although we also lack a bit of pace in advanced areas.

Wow! Was it that long ago.

SO you've been a safe 4 points for us for the last 2 season, so that points to a Spurs win

chadli first attacking option off bench.

We were seconds away from winning away to Spurs in SAF final season doing a smash and grab but unfortunately we conceded right at the end after Rooney 20 minutes earlier being denied stonewall pen.

At least Spurs haven't beaten Man utd at WHL since 18th May 2001.

Devon

If they go with Mata and Valencia down that right we could have a field day with Rose and Chadli and/or Eriksen

To be honest I find it funny how you lot didn't beat them away for like 23 years was it? And you've beaten them at OT for two consecutive seasons.

They haven't beaten you in the last 5 games. Maybe you're their new bogey team.

Moving on I didn't even think we (Arsenal) played that well against them. We were okay but we weren't exactly playing great football and opening them up throughout the whole 90 minutes. It speaks volume how average they were that we didn't even need to be at our best to beat them when in the past we've put in much more accomplished displays and ended up losing.

If you press them high and Kane occupies the centre halves, which I expect him to, you have a good chance.

Will be interesting to see how United respond, though.
