Who cares about his one rabona against some pub team in the europa league, maybe he should always shoot like that as it was a lot better than his normal efforts on goal.
Also for your info I used to be semi pro and scored many prtty good goals, of course I am not saying I am better than Lamela it was tongue in cheek, but you know what I reckon I might have scored 1 goal in nearly 2 years of footy even if it came off my backside

He's poor, but nowhere near as bad as you're making him out to be.
Fack me- on a day of pathetic articles, this one wins hands down
The guys a very good footballer. Dunno wots wrong with him ATM, but maybe time for him to leave WHL and go elsewhere.
He's been largely awful. Got a lovely name though, and cheekbones to die for so will always get a bit of slack though.
The initial problem with the skilful imports is getting used to the physical side of things. Once they get stuck in, you will know if they are going to be a player.
Unfortunately for Erik, the effort is there but the actual ability is the thing letting him down.
It sounds harsh, but he's been here for a season acclimatising already, and has now had virtually a season being a regular player.
He isn't going to be the player we hoped her be. He's like a poor man's Reyes

No he is as bad I really don't know why people get so defensive about being honest about a player that play for there club. I just as much as anyone was over the moon when we signed him, I hadnt seen much but he had pedigree without a doubt, but since then my god he has hardly offered anything for 2 seasons. If we had grabbed a player from the reserves Id bet they would have contributed more than he has.
When I manage to get to games I cheer him on like the anybody else its only on here I vent my frustration. I hate it when fans slag off a player while he is playing and I would like nothing more than for him to make me eat humble pie but he won't as he is not good enough and I highly doubt he ever will be.
He has assisted 5 PL goals this season, so he has not been a total disaster and he has played very well in some games.
Still not enough from him though, but he is still a kid and may develop later, so I will give him more time.
What I don't understand is certain people will gladly write off Chiriches, Capoue or Paulinho, yet get all motherly about Lamela or Soldado, who have had far more chances and never convinced
Look im a Lamela fan but even I can admit he's been extremely poor. He's shown glimpses and does seem to have the talent that needs unearthing but wether that's in a Spurs shirt is another matter. He just lacks the confidence and keeps making the wrong decisions in possesion. Worse signing ever? No way. Major disappointment? Big time. Still prefer him in the team than that c. Unt adebayor thats for Sure
It is up to Poch to get the best out of him, he clearly has talent, is an Argentina international and was excellent for Roma.
It may never happen for him at Spurs, sometimes players just do not cut it at a particular club, and then move on elsewhere to excel.

"No he is as bad....."
"Worst player ever!"
Erm I think you are making him out to be worse than he actually is. Out of curiousity, are you older than 14?
Shocking article.

I only signed in to give this one star, if I could award it a large steaming shiite I'd have done so instead.
Lamela is anything but convincing at the moment and may never be in the PL...but to write him off as a bad player is ridiculous. The guy has talent, anyone with at least half a brain can see that....whether the rest of his game will develop enough to adapt to the PL is anybodys guess.

He may be a good player but he certainly hasn't shown it for us. In general he has been awful. Looks as though poch has faith in him
Lamela has been poor, that can't be disputed. But "the worst ever!" Is utterly ridiculous....
Acimovic

Booth
Gilberto
Doherty

Took me all of 2 mins to list that lot.
Either the OP is exaggerating or didn't watch football before 2008
