For a 6-7 second video it took me a long fecking time to load it!

But it was well worth it!!!

Good find, thanks for posting.

One of my favourite players is Carrick, possibly the most underrated player I've seen at United.

I underrated him myself in his first season, then I heard an interview with Fergie that basically said he hadn't given him a licence to get forward, and nearly had a heart attack when he did

Carrick is a defensive midfielder who can pass. And because his passing is fantastic and he can shoot people expected him to get forward all the time like Lampard/Gerrard did. Was never gonna happen.

Rolls Royce is a perfect description of his playing style - Paul Scholes.

Well said Shinji. Carrick has to go down as one of our top 10 central midfielders to grace the shirt at the club.

Been so important to us over the years. Hard to believe he's been with us for nearly 10 years.

Fantastic player.

I knew what we were getting when he left spurs, I remember an interview he gave once for a pre-season for Spurs, and he was saying he'd like to a few more goals, I think he scored 3 the season before... But was already integral to spurs team.
We were not getting him for his goals.
I think his best season was about 7 goals...
And yes I got very frustrated with him, but very happy to have been shown the light, and what he gives to a team.

Yeah, i noticed it took a while too. However, well worth it, like you said. The thing is SAF is quite down-to-heart and has a wicked sense of humor like a lot of ex players have said. n

......................

From my life time these are the only ones I would have him behind.

Crerand, Charlton, Mcllroy, Muhren, Ince, Robson, Scholes, Keane

At least Carrick saw who it was. SAF really is boss.

Carrick is a criminally underrated player, its no coincidence that our good form coincides with his return from injury. 👍

He's better than Anderson and djembax2

They should build a statue of Carrick at OT.

Robb

Considering Phil Neville and Butt were here for similar or less really shows how good Carrick has been. An the trophies we won when he's been her eclipse that of any other era. Amazing.

VC - I'd say Keane and Scholes ahead. But I'd say he's on par with Ince. Loved Ince as well. More than Keane when both were at the club. But Keane really flourished once Ince left. Another Fergie Jedi-masterstroke getting rid of Ince Hughes and Kanchelskis. Keeping that net spend down.

The others you mentioned VC I simply haven't seen enough of them. However I've heard many people champion Charlton, of course, and Robson. Saw a few matches with Robbo, but not enough really; and I was a kid. And I know Crerand won the 2 big trophies with us.

Were Muhren and McIlroy better than mighty MC?

I always found Nicky Butt very underrated

Carrick is a club great and he's one of the players I've always believed in.

I remember defending him so much on the old 606 it almost became the only subject I posted about.

What I love about Carrick is that at his worst he's one of the best holding players you could wish for from a defensive perspective.

At his best you can add that he has a great passing range and picks out brilliant forward passes.

Shinji

Carricks game is very similar to Muhrens, and to be fair we got him in his later years. But Arnold was still just that class above.

Sammy Mccllroy was one of our most under rated players form that era. Probably because he had to live under the shadow of another certain Northern Irishman.

Ah got you. I'll have to search out some Muhren clips.

I do remember watching a video of a very young McIlroy scoring some goals. but I think you've hit the nail with the GB comment
