Irish although you are a potato head, there is no truer statement than this and I agree with you 100%. LEWIS HAMILTON transcends the sport of formula 1, he displays car control, knowledge combined with intuition that no other has possessed or will ever possess on this planet.

Would you please spell potatoe correctly.
He has a very similar effect to Rossi in motogp
I have always considered Best as the best footballer ever. Better than Pele.
Funny how no one mentions Usébio. He was better than Pele also.
Borg and Barry I have no dispute with. Senna? I could name 10 drivers better than him.

Name them please...........
I can think of 4 that you could argue might have been better than Senna:
Fangio
Lauda
Schumacher
Clark
It's very disputable though.
With the exception of Clark, I would say no.
BTW. That's just four............
Fangio ( never saw him so can't judge ).
Lauda ( saw him, Senna was faster ).
Schumacher ( saw him, Senna, in the same car would have blitzed him ).
Clark ( watched him on my old mans knee ). Don't know.
It wasn't me that proposed the idea of naming 10.
I just selected a few I can think of that may have a case.
Personally I don't think they quite measure up to Senna.
Also Schumacher is the only one I actually saw, I'm only going by what I've read on the others.
I think Schumacher was better than Senna. No doubts in my mind whatsoever
Hard to say really in terms of success.
Given how competitive Williams were in the 90s I wouldn't have put it past Senna to win the 94, 95 and 96 WDCs. Meaning that Senna would be the all time most successful with 6 titles, compared to Schumacher sharing 2nd place with Fangio on 5.
Michael Schumacher won 7 titles. It would have been 8 but for disqualification.
Senna won 3 but on one of his titles Prost actually scored more points in that season.
Sorry T&U I thought I was replying to another post. My fault.
No mention of Ali or Jordan?
@ MU.

There are other polls including those of all ex and present F1 Drivers and they all agree, Senna was number 1.

The poll referred to did not include a single F1 champ. It is the result of the views of the BBC F1 production team.
In 2010 the FIA celebrated the 60th anniversary of F1 and all of the surviving WDC's were invited to give their opinions of who they considered to be the best F1 driver. Not a single one of them mentioned Senna. The only time drivers mention Senna is when a programme is solely about him. Most people regard Fangio as the best.
