Pirlo - so good you named him twice.

Juninho for me.

Ronaldinho, Pirlo and Messi are excellent current freekick takers.

Matt Le Tissier could hit them too.

Please take C. Ronaldo and R. Carlos off your list - very poor freekick takers, conversion rate of about 1 in 200 FFS.

kolo toure.

Remember KOLO SMASH!!

Never scored though.

Juninho, the Lyon one.

Mihajlovic had an amazing g conversion rate I seem to remember.

Can't remember the exact ratio/percentage, and can't be bothered looking for it either!

☂ (U19684) you can't deny that Roberto Carlos and Cristiano Ronaldo are also good free-kick takers.
I disagree with your comment about them!

Roberto Carlos was overhyped because he had a powerful shot, Ronaldo does alright but not in the top bracket.

As mentioned above, Juninho Pernambucano, Beckham and Rogerio Ceni with an honourable mention to Matt Le Tissier and you won't be far off.

As a keeper, Ceni always knew the spot where a keeper would be weakest.

Here's a collection of some of his 61 free kicks:

Ronaldinho and Pirlo spring to mind from current. Messi is around there too. Ronaldo was at his utd and early Madrid years.
Juninho the Lyon one is the best one I've seen. Something like 40 odd goals were free kicks of the 98 or so he scored for Lyon.

Don't get me wrong, those two have both taken some truly great freekicks - Carlos in particular.

However, they are nowhere near the top freekick-takers of all time as they're way too inconsistent.
It's almost like comparing Adebayor to Messi

Do this list in a few years and Hakan Calhanoglu will be on it. Zlatko Junuzovic has scored a few this season but I only really see highlights of him.

Sinisa Mihajlovic, isnt he the only player to score a hatrick from free kicks in game

posted on 6/4/15

Yeah mihaijlovic was top class as well.

Juan Arango was (is) great as well.

Of the OP's list, I've only seen a few but Pirlo and Beckham are the most impressive. Messi definitely better than Ronaldo, the cockatoo.

No Ronaldo free-kicks are much better placed and better looking as a fan than Messi!

That Lyon player Juninho seemed to be awesome.

Couple of extra names for the list, Zola was pretty damn good. And Jan Molby was good for a fat lad!

Roberto Baggio, probably underrated as well.

Juninho probably the best though.

That said, the Roberto Carlos free kick in Le Tournois is one of my favourite goals. Amazing.

stoichkov hagi koeman Zola all should be in the list

I can't go against Juninho, pirlo, and ronaldinho.

They're just out of this world when it comes to free kicks.

Juninho.

Charlie Mulgrew has a wand of a left peg, why is he not on the list? racists!

zola probably for sheer consistency. I'd love to see free kicks taken % scored. Think zola would be pretty high up. If not juninho. C.Ronaldo, Beckham, Carlos etc use to take about 100 before scoring one
