Calm down, I'm sure he'll get it.
11 separate games is streaky but 12 isn't?
I am hearing rumors Harry Kane should get it
I would love it if Kane won it.
Kane will probably win it because he's English.
Aguero is a strikers and you would expect him to score more goals, but his goals have not been as detrimental as Hazard has been this season
Tu Meke
I'm not sure he'll win it.
In 2010 Ancelotti won the league and FA cup double and scored record amount of goals and did not win manager of the year.
Bov - it would be a travesty if he doesn't
Hazard deserves to win the award the most through the performances he has given throughout the year. Technically he's also by the far the best, he plays to a level which very few players can.
If Kane wins, I would be disappointed, but its going to a good player, who's had a outstanding progression. So I would be happy for him. However it would also show the British bias, that we can have a player like Hazard, perform ridiculously well through the campaign and not give him the award.
Alexis has done way better than Hazard, 20 goals and 10 assists in his first season so far.
Although, I agree stats favors Sanchez, but he often frustrates with his penchant for losing possession needlessly and constantly trying to over elaborate on plays. Whereas Hazard’s dribbles opens up space and creates numerous problems for oppositions

I guess players like Berkgamp and Zidane weren't actually that good considering they had pretty poor assist and goal stats.
Or maybe, just maybe there's more to evaluating the level of a football player than counting up how many goals or assists they get ...?
If Chelsea win the title this season then Hazard would have been absolutely instrumental to that win; both with the goals he's scored and the chances he's created for others. And he's been the most exciting player to watch by far in the league.
Sanchez can't compete with any of that.
I think people are getting more and more obsessed with stats in football, especially in this country. Look at Ribery. In his 2012/13 season, he scored only 11 goals (all competitions) and still was awarded with Bundesliga player of the year. He was very much a worthy winner of the award, and he was probably in the top 5 best players in the world that year.
I think with Hazard the public are becoming more and more educated, that a great player doesn't need to have impressive statistics. That not everything can be represented through numbers, and that only watching the players can we judge how good and effective they are. Part of the problem with English football is the pressure put onto being productive, whether that being assists or goals, whereas in other countries the public judge players from what they see in their performances, and not through statistics. For example at Real Madrid there has been a lot said on whether Bale should be dropped for Isco or James, the fans have watched the players, and many believe Isco or James offer much more, whether they are right or wrong its up to debate. But the point is don't doubt a player just through statistics, and don't be obsessed with them either.
They also obsess over Ronaldo and Messi's statistics in Spain so it's not something that is particular to England, it's becoming common throughout Europe.
Anything other than Hazard winning it would be a complete disgrace and I include Costa and Cesc in that.
1) Hazard
2) Kane
3) Sanchez
I dont agree that he is the only real candidate but I do agree on him being the player of the year...so far
Sanchez, Kane have had very good seasons aswell
Stevie G might just get it for sentimental reasons it being his last season

A German striker for Frankfurt has similar goal stats to Kane yet won't sniff POTY while the likes of Robben and KDB are around.
Same should apply to Kane with the likes of Eden and Sanchez.

He will be too busy on a helicopter scouring the local league games waiting to jump out and pounce when a pen is awarded.

Out of interest, what makes you so sure? Robben has only been footballer of the year in Germany once and they have history of going for players that hit form for one year, e.g. Grafite from Wolfsburg and Gomez when he was relatively unknown at Stuttgart.
