My brother has type two,but doesn't manage it so his blood sugars are 10 times acceptable levels. His eyesight is getting progressively worse. Which is tragic, when we are putting on an accumulator.

People really underestimate the damage that diabetes does, but it can cause some seriously nasty injuries. Diabetic foot disease can be horrific.

So much is unknown about both types as well, its a really interesting area of research

I have type 1. Had it since I was 18, 10 years ago. It can be managed. Eat right, exercise, keep on top of your checkups and blood sugar testing at home and you're fine. It's when you start sweeping everything under the carpet and ignoring appointments that the trouble starts.
