How can you be questioning Dougie at this stage?

He's come in with a side playing absolutely shocking and no confidence whatsoever. A side depleted by injuries and the club under a transfer embargo.

We've lost to 2 good teams and 2 not so good (it happens) and won most of the rest.

He's lifted team spirit, got us out of the relegation scrap, gave us a chance of the playoffs and also put a plan to Fawaz as to how we are going to move the club forward without keep wasting money

Freedman has a plan apparently, and has targeted players he doesn't want, so it is quite likely that those that can't be bothered won't be here next season.

Hiring any manager is a gamble, even if we persuaded Mourinho to take over, he's not guaranteed to succeed.

We will see. I'm just judging on what I have seen at the last two home games. Didn't see Freedman affect either performance with any tactical changes. Just because he is in post doesn't mean he should automatically get the contract extension. I'm hoping I will be eating my words this time next year, though...

For those of you touting Warburton for our next manager based on what he has done this season wouldn't you rather have a manager who has got back-to-back playoffs in this division and is allegedly looking to move on in the summer. Or maybe a manager whose team is running away with the League 1 title and are scoring at a rate of two goals a game (almost).

He's not going to come back to Forest though is he Red?

That wasn't the question, Cani.

Strange that the contract hasn't been signed.

We are in a mess and truthfully have been since the first time Billy was sacked.

We haven't moved forward in 4 seasons

A reporter who is a Forest fan Tweeted that they was singing about us again, wishing Oyston on us this time. Thing is if we got someone worse than Fawaz who took the club under, they wouldn't know what to do. Probably end up losing interest in football altogether

Cotterill was never given a chance by Fawaz in what was his first mistake IMO. If Freedman deserves a chance now then Cotterill certainly did them as he worked under harder conditions then any recent Forest managers, selling Morgan and Bamford for peanuts and having to make do and mend. He earnt the right to have a go the following season with some proper backing. Really pleased he has found success at Brizzle playing some great attacking football. I for one will be giving him a good reception when he brings them to the CG next season.

I am not sure with whether he would have been successful at Forest or not as our form only seemed to improve after SOD came in, but I agree with the fact that looking back he probably did deserve a chance.

if anyone can remember he didn't take it very well after he was sacked

posted on 15/4/15

That's my recollection as well, we had a terrible run under Cotterill for a bit and it was only when SOD came in that we seemed to turn that around. Fans weren't happy even more so than now!!

Even so, maybe FAH should have kept that team together to see what they could do but he insisted on trying to game a "name" in, ultimately failing and getting SOD back.

That's wishful thinking TEG. It's not over for us just yet.

The CEO at Bristol who they say has done a great job was also sacked by Fawaz. In all the nonsense that has gone on at Forest over the last couple of seaons there is one constant. Guess who.

Eh? You mean the manager? Being successful at Bristol City is a completely different proposition from being a success at Forest. It's probably why McClaren has been able to succeed at Derby. And it's not just about having a nutter as a chairman!

My mistake, Keith Burt is director of football but still sacked by Fawaz.

It is about having a nutter as chairman. Leeds are a big enough club to have been a regular in the prem but thanks to three stupid owners in a row they are a mid table championship side. A decent CEO who makes rational decisions is a great advantage.

Didn't you once go to a match "tooled up" Spart? If so, you should really find a better name to call Fawaz

Although I have a lot of concerns about Fawaz, it was almost all Billy being our main problem a while back according to Derby fans. It also wouldn't surprise me if he had influence over the sackings just before and after he joined.

Anyway, you pay too much interest in the real detail of what's going on with us but I suppose that's the nature of the average Derby fan.

Think Keith Burt was chief scout at Forest, I think. Cotterill definitely should've stayed on for a bit longer at Forest. Fans were understandably taken in by the Al Hasawi's claims of bringing an iconic manager. I don't think you can downplay any manager who wins a league with a team regardless of the division. Shows they can motivated and cajole a team throughout a whole season, which is clearly not as easy as it seems.
