If Martin was fit he would of sat down. But...really...more importantly was we got back to our system. For me it was not dropping Bent but more about getting our formation back and Martin in his rightful home. Ive no probs with Owd Dazza. Just when push comes to shove...

Yeah back to the old Derby tonight (only Blackpool granted) but Hendrick played the holding role to perfection and Dawks played the 'Hughes role' to perfection too. Balanced defence with round pegs in round holes, and who knew Shotton could look so good going forward? Vibrant in attack. A good night all round.

I was pleased with tonight Milf. As you say...the back 4 looked balanced...that's why I picked it. Dawkins was very good...I can see my boy Jeff set in concrete in that role now till anybody is fit to do better. Hughes will replace Bryson. 1 more win

Shotton on the right was he, i missed the team news and first half on here.

Wonder why we hadn't tried Hendrick in the holding role before. He looked very comfortable and is now a physical presence as distinct from when he was played there in the past. Dawkins was much better in the middle of the park rather than on the wings. Did Schteve substitute Bent and bring on Russell to prove to himself that Russell can't lead the attack. Six more wins and we are in the prem.

Good performance tonight but hard to judge really as it was Blackpool after all. Not taking anything away from them but just a bit of perspective. If anything I hope it builds confidence.

Bent did a lot more of a Martin role I thought tonight. Came deeper more than he usually does and played quick first time passes. Defence looked sound and Whitbread has looked good whenever he has played. Just always injured. Dawkins looked good in midfield and had a good game. Actually put a couple of tackles in as well. Again hard to say what he would be like against a stronger team. Still gave the customary chance though with shotton nearly giving a goal away. Apart from that he had a good game too.

Overall great to see us go back to the formation we play well, good result and like I said hope it gives them some confidence back. Also nice to have a penalty taker again. We must of missed 5 or 6 last season. No stopping that one.
