I don't think thing shave fell into place for him but by all accounts he hasn't worked very hard. You can see his quality in his touch but his career is passing him by. For someone reasonably quick I have never seen him run in behind, ever, for any club. For what it is worth though, which is nothing, he's on £90k and has never been a lone striker.

Worst transfer? Don't know about that. Signing a striker for £35m who injured himself falling of a bar stool may top it.

Sampdoria have declared their interest for him today. Offer anything close to £10m we should take it.

He has been abysmal...it was a gamble but balo is a wasted talent; too much too soon imo. Doesnt need to try does he, probably a millionare and with his attitude he doesnt care and try.

Must ged rid off asap...i think b

We a richly deserved all the fall out that came with signing him.

Suarez out Balotelli and Lambert in. Says it all.

I personally thought Rodgers was on an ego trip signing him

I think he wanted to say I am the guy that tamed him as lots of top managers tried and failed

Just my opinion

Nozla.

You're not the only one who thought that 👍

Either that or he was the only striker of quality available at that price who'd just had a good world cup but, yeah, I'm sure the board sanctioned a £16,000,000 transfer and committed to many more millions in wages on the basis of one mans ego.

The positive? Lessons have been learned, people need to remember BR will make mistakes hes never been at this level before as a manager.

Rather it never happened but it will make him a better manager.

Oh well whatever our thoughts are he has been a terrible buy...another on the long list over the last 5 years or so

A massive waste of talent. You can see the talent he has, he has the skill, the pace and the strength to be a top forward. I simply put it down to a lack of application. He doesn't want or try enough. That's the difference in top players with talent and players who could have been top players. He's still young enough but I'm not confident he will ever apply himself enough to realise the talent he has. He just always looks like the whole world is against him and he'd rather fight that than take control of it.

Why would he fake a knee injury though? Why would a player desperate to play deliberately make himself unavailable?

I'm quite certain he is not the worst liverpool buy ever but what I am sure of is there is no other player in the history of football who has had lie after lie circulated about him all in the hope of selling a story.

............

I thought exactly the same as well. To me this was BR trying to do a Fergie / Cantona thing.

He doesn't want to play. That's the thing. Or he's certainly not that bothered. He's happy messing about on the bench with the academy kids.

Rodgers should have wondered why wenger backed out when balo was offered on a plate

He divided opinion from the off. There were those who believed that would realise his ability with Liverpool and there were those, (including myself), who feared that he would flop badly due to his questionable attitude.

What winds me up now is pillocks still advocating for his inclusion, despite having the the unwavering evidence that he doesn't work hard enough, or play for a team. Mario is lazy and plays for himself.

He's been a terrible buy. Not our worst, but arguably Rodgers worst since he's been at the club.

We had no plan B in terms of where to go after Sanchez turned us down. This is what worries me the most about the whole sorry saga. There is a lack of transparency re. transfers due to this committee process. I hope the club knows who's accountable for the clubs Balotelli balls up.

Not all transfers will be a success, far from it. However, I was gobsmacked when the rumours started circulating we were in for him.

Rodgers ruined him

Should have been played in a 2

Think him and studge would have made a great partnership

He ruined himself. Always has done.

I know Cantona had his issues but it was never with lack of effort or application.

Balotelli has ability but not as much as he appears to think he has.

The main problem is that Balotelli seems quite happy doing what he's doing, there is no desire to improve.

He's the very opposite of the player that Shanks and Paisley would have signed back in the day.

Are you gonna post that on every article?

What a drip.

In case you still haven't noticed, nobody cares what you think, you're an irrelevance.
