But then there is Ronaldo too..

100 percent Ronaldinho for me. Most exciting player ever to have lived and he was so close to doing so. Cheers Kenyon.

P.s as good at Scholes was, Zidane is somewhat better and there have been plenty of better players too.

Yeah during those 2 seasons where he was at his one and only peak he was more exciting to watch than Messi and C.Ron. Tore everyone to shreds

My vote has to go to Zidane. The only midfield player I'd rate slightly above Paul Scholes of the modern era..
---
In terms of talent or just you prefer Zidane as a player more?

--------------------------

Talent doesn't mean much if you don't fulfill that talent over a career. Hey Bojan has tonnes of it yet he's gone from Barca to Stoke

I think Zidane 'over all' was more talented and skill full than Scholes yes, in some areas Scholes excelled but Zidane was the complete package, plus led France to WC glory

Figo would have done well in the Prem League.

Tie between Ronaldo and Ronaldinho.

Ronaldo.... Just simply frightening. The pace, the power, the skill and a deadly finisher. My footballing idol as a 13/14 year old.

Ronaldinho... Wow! Some of the skills he used in-game simply shouldn't have been allowed. Don't think I've seen such a combo of skills, flicks and end product. To this day I'm still flabbergasted by THAT goal vs Chelsea.

Xavi has to be another one too, Xavi with the right midfield partner would lead a team to dominating the league

Sorry but Xavi shïts all over Scholes mate. Was a good player but Utd fans always seem to overrate him quite a bit. Someone's going to quote Zidane now I am sure.

Scholes has never played in the most complete team ever assembled, Xavi probably has, ''shiits all over him'' you're having a laugh!

So in all the Utd teams and England team he played in, none of them were complete? Give me another excuse why Scholes never had even a fraction of influence Xavi had in Europe and in intl football.

In the premiership or in England?
Because if it's the latter then it would have to be Maradona, greatest footballer I ever witnessed

Scholes was clearly quality. But not a patch on either Zidane or Xavi.

I agree with you though, "shîts all over" was too kind.

Xavi is the most dominant CM I've seen.

Why do Arsenal fans have to wait for a United player to be mentioned in the same sentence with another WC player before commenting I don't want to delete comments so please keep this sensible!

Scholes was a fantastic player, truly, but I do rate Xavi higher, personally.

In terms of player I'd have loved to have seen play in the prem, I have to go with what I assume is going to be a very popular concensus and say Ronaldo. Just an astonishingly good player.
