If I had to choose one, it'd have to be Ronaldinho!

Zidane, Ronaldo and Maldini being other contenders...

Rivaldo
Del Piero
Batistuta
Effenberg
Zidane

You want to delete comments because I have spoken the truth? You can't even counter my last comment. Its not even about him being a Utd player, Xavi would have had every great Arsenal midfielder for breakfast too! It's you whoneeds to take the blinkers off.

Sorry if i'm late to the party but i would have to include more than one player. Apologies in advance if any have been mentioned before.

Ronaldo - beast goal scoring freak (mind you our own Ronaldo wasn't bad too)

Ronaldhino - Such an 'artist' of the field. Almost magical at his peak.

Ibrahimovic - Absolute quality player over the course of his long career - really surprised he never played in the PL to be honest.

There are more but these three stand out for me.

Effenberg would have been great in the PL too.

Was a shame that Ronaldinho was at his peak for only about 2 years, if he'd lasted for say 8-10 years at around that level people would be comparing him to Messi.

Ibrahimovic historically hasn't been 'great' against English teams but I don't doubt if he played for a PL club he'd be bagging around 30 goals a season for one of the big teams

Yeah, that is the only downside to Ronaldinho. Such a shame he wasn't consistent over a much longer period. But even just for the 'couple' of seasons' he was magical would have been immense over here.

I honestly believe he would have been pretty good in the PL if during his peak years. A showman of the sport with ability to back it up.

Scholes can't really be compared to Zidane, there's a massive gulf in class, and that's from someone who rates scholes very, very highly.

Zidane is just one of the greatest. I fear his artistry may have been wasted a little in the PL.

Dinho/Ronaldo Naz/Zizou/ Messi - have seen them all live a few times so that was something i suppose.

La Liga are really lucky bar stewards, nearly every top player get to ply their trade there.

I don't know about massive gulf in class. Better than him? Without a question. I don't know about him being massively better than him. He did it in the world stage and that's what clouds people's judgement. Paul scholes was also a magician. Antonio Valencia has not been the same since he left.
