Ellando, what we saw that season was the moment where a strong Leeds side were on the cusp of Prem football, Grayson knew what we needed, but Bates put end to it.
We will not get a new manager of note after this, no way. Sadly whilst Cellino is still at the club we will not see a manager with pedigree come anywhere near.
As for players, we now know that Cellino will get players he can control. Its a bad situation.
Deals were agreed for the two defenders then bates went back on them, obviously Simons pot went elsewhere
Dons are coming for Simons pne
Don, do you know who the two were?
JLA - No he didn't say, but it sums bates up, look at the sides that were in Div 3 with us and where they are now, Swansea, Southampton, Norwich, none had the income we had but have progressed to the PL.
Bates was a poor custodian. GFH was/is abysmal. Cellino offered potential but that has gone south in recent weeks.
It's a bloody nightmare. So frustrating.
Bates is the main culprit given he had a clean sheet of paper post administration.
Bates lined his pockets whilst laughing at us. I still believe he owns ER and TA. His spin on the Howson transfer the other day, reminded me that he would have made a great test bowler.
Oleary hasn't managed in England for 9 years
He hasn't managed at all for for four years and at each of the teams he has managed he has had massive resources to play with.
What about our present situation makes you think he would be a sucess, or even could be successful?
Lambert is available, was quality getting Norwich up two divisions. Attacking football, used subs properly, went for it went losing and always got back level or even go on to win. He's the man for us.
...and then at Villa he (or at least his team), were very negative.
Lambert is available!!!:::
You never know, had Grayson been at Norwich at that time with the backing Lambert got, maybe he'd have got Norwich up, or maybe if he'd been backed right with a Chairman that was known for his love of Leeds United and his word he'd bring them to their knees!..
Well, it ended as it did!..
I think he had as much chance under Bates as anyone under Cellino has, Shaun, what do you think?..
shaun.....i agree lambert is a good coach but can't see walter mitty getting him or if we do get big investors they'll probably want a household name, a foreign coach i would imagine....
