Again, as I stated in the article, the major contributions Ramsey has made despite being played out wide have been from central positions where he can make an impact on games. Yes he missed a ridiculously easy chance but so have many other players in our squad many times this season.

Just how we saw for most of last season Ramsey made the difference.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He scored the decisive goal in the FA Cup final if you meant that. Otherwise he didnt really influence this game positively.
"I've seen, Coq/Ramsey/Cazorla have the best chemistry"
Completley agree with this.
Ozil is playing far better now than he was at the start of the season but the word luxury still comes to mind when I think if Ozil at Arsenal.
Yes he can provide Magic at any time but for solidarity, efficiently and defensive awareness a midfield of ramsey, Coq and Cazorla is the best for me
I think this is a poor excuse for a player - being played out of position. Top players make no issue of this.
All 3 of them are not as top as people suggest if they can't rotate.
Its obvious that Wenger is playing Ramsey to protect the lack of work and physical power from Ozil and Santi.
Why does he have to play both Ozil and Santi? Neither are good out wide and both play play better behind a striker.
Ramsey and Coq should be the deeper two for every game. And then its one of Ozil or Santi in front of them. That way you play two wide players who then maintain width depending on where the ball is.
-------Coq-------Ramsey------
------------Ozil/Santi-----------
--Theo-----------------Alexis--
--------Giroud/Welbeck-------
It's a shame Ox is still out because if he was fit we likely would not be having this discussion. We have badly missed him since the win at OT even if we have been winning non stop. What I can't understand is why Welbeck or Walcott are not deputising for him and why we have to shoehorn all 3 CMs into the team.
Ospina
Bellerin Gabriel Kos Nacho
Coq Ramsey
Theo Santi Alexis
Giroud
This is our best available team atm imo and I would love to see it play vs Chelsea. I can see Welbeck starting wide though to help protect whoever plays RB because Hazard will be the main threat as usual. Shame though considering Theo's record vs Chelsea is very good.
Makes no sense whatsoever why Wenger is playing Ramsey out wide.
People talk about walcott giving us no defensive cover but ramsey is probably the worst culprit from out wide
Ozil and Cazorla are natural number 10's so it's impossible to get the best out of both of them in the same team, one of them will always be sacrificed and atm it's Cazorla who is twice as good at no.10 than any other position. I feel bad for him getting played all over the pitch when he's always been quality at no.10.
Ozil has more pace and dribbling ability so him wide and Santi in the middle is a better idea to me but Ozil's passing and vision is so good that you want him in the middle. They're both world class no.10 but they're not world class in other positions so Wenger needs to bench one of them long term, unfortunately it will most likely be Cazorla.
Wenger will never drop sanchez or Ozil so Cazorla will get the chop.
However, Ozil goes in and out of games which is my worry.
Oxlade is another no.10. You only have to look at his lack of productivity out wide. He loves to come short as well.
We only have two wide players in the squad, Alexis and Theo. And after watching Welbeck's poor display yesterday only Walcott willing to make runs behind the opposition.
Reading setup to play Giroud yesterday. Thats why they played the high line. Wenger did the right thing in playing Welbeck. But Welbeck never ever ran in behind. The way to judge that is by counting the number offsides against us. And I don't remember any for us which shows the lack of selfless running.

Please. If theo plays against Chelsea he'll be invisible. May aswell play Danny to offer a bit of protection.

I think you are wrong here, J99. It was wrong to play Welbeck for Giroud. We didnt won any high ball. Danny couldnt make run because we werent anywhere near their goal. Our passing was around him but never to him. Against Reading Giroud would be the better option.
Welbeck needs a performance
Let's be honest, he has been a disappointing buy so far.
He should start v chelsea unless Wenger is crazy enough to start ramsey again.
If he does, he needs to finally step up
If they play like they did against united, it's fairly obvious to see why. If they come out and play a bit, like they did against City last year, then he might be useful.
Welbeck made a fair amount of runs yesterday, but the midfield was content to keep passing it around. He had to come deep to collect the ball.
I expect Arsene to play Danny just to help out defensively especially against Hazard.
From the few mins Theo played yesterday, he seems to recognise that he needs to be more involved in the game to force his way into the team & that's a good thing

Tbh, I'm happy with Danny simple because he scored the winner at OT.

Giroud doesn't like high balls either. In football the player makes the run FIRST which creates space for Ozil in behind by dragging a CB or the player finds space himself. That way the deeper midfield or defender can see where the space is to play the quick long ball.
Everytime a deeper player had the ball they had no options up front so they went wide. Both Welbeck and Alexis wanted it too feet. Thats not good.
I have to say yesterday was Welbeck's worst game I have seen. He didn't run into the space that Reading were giving. And Alexis only made one run when he jumped over the goalkeeper. I didn't expect Ramsey to do anything out wide but to come into the middle to clog up the space even more.....and he did that.
I agree OP. IMO one of Caz, Ozil, Ramsey and or Jack need to go. No chemistry whatsoever. As for who:
Cazorla- has recieved a lot of praise this season but technically I think he has been a bit poor. Good with both feet but I have seen him give the ball away.
Ozil- He's been better since injury. Still doesn't do it for me. Goes invisible for too much of the game.
Ramsey- Technically he has been dreadful and back to his Average Ramsey nickname. Seems to have lost that technique that allowed him to glide through defences last season.
Wilshere- Constantly crocked. Very left footed. Cuts in too often. Bad temperment. Dribbles too often. Slow. It just hasnt worked out for him.
IMO I wouldn't mind Jack and Santi leaving. Santi is 31 soon and probably wants a return to Spain. If we can get near 15m that would be good for us. Jack, if the City rumours are true, would be worth 30m.
