Droog, I watched the game and it was pretty even in the first half. I was surprised how much Chelsea attacked but come the second half your manager threw the blanket over Arsenal and just sat back.

Fair enough, I don't have an issue with it (other than it cost me an acca), I just guess people like to label other teams.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not sure we just sat back. There were 5/6 clear cynical fouls by Arsenal to stop our attacks. Hard to attack when when you do the opposition just kicks you.

I noticed you went for an Arsenal win, was quite surprised. I had a draw so still got mine to play for.

The first half was competitive, you just need to look at the number of penalty calls we had to see the attacking intent, the clearance off the line and the Ramires chance. The second half was a different game but thought both teams became more cautious, not just Chelsea, Arsenal had a little go in the last five minutes but I couldn’t help think it was like a boxer trying to make an impression at the end of a round for the benefit of PR as much as anything.

Chelsea are a very good transition team and the role with and without the ball are very well drilled in to the players, as a Chelsea fan it is a joy to watch; they close down in packs, one goes and one fills in, attackers double up to help the defenders, it is almost like a muscle memory thing it is so instinctive for the players under Mourinho but that should be commended and these same players can do it at the other end too and will probably finish the league’s second highest scorers this season.

No wonder Arsenal think it is boring, they can’t score against us but frankly as much as they tart around with the ball in areas that don’t do damage we showed more attacking intent by creating the bet chances through the game and Arsenal were incredible cynical with their professional fouls to hamper attacks.

Chelsea are a very well balanced team and that frustrates rivals, and long may it continue.

I’m not moaning, in fact I heard it barely mentioned by Chelsea fans but if Arsenal fans want to keep moaning then we should look at what actually happened rather than blindly spout bile.

At times yesterday, Young, Shaw and Valencia got into fantastic crossing positions only to cut back and keep possession.

I'm all for this style of football, but I agree at times when we are dominating just stick the ball in the mixer. We had Rooney and Falcao on the pitch FFS.

Gary made a comment about this as well, in the final third we preferred to retain possession than do something with it.

I wish we had a striker with Hernandez's movement and pace and Benzema's hold up play

Both well known for their aerial prowess at 5ft 9in and 5ft 10in respectively.

Both are brilliant headers of the ball, doesn't that translate on FIFA or FM?

We are certainly missing something. I think that is an in-form Di Maria.

What would Chelsea be without Hazards ability to dribble and play sharp one twos in and around the box? Average is the answer, and that's exactly how we look with the ball when breaking down stubborn opposition.

I'm a fantastic header of the ball too, as long as I don't have to compete for it against some of England's best centre backs.

Falcao has a 27% aerial success rate, Rooney 37%

Without Hazard we'd adapt.

Does not have to be a high cross, low crosses cause more havoc and could herald the return of one of our best ever signings, Own Goal

MUDD, on the subject of lower crosses, what the hell happened to diving headers? You never really see the mid/low cross anymore, and if you do, players are far more likely to try and swing a boot at it.

I miss them

If you're Antonio Valencia low crosses do not cause havoc, they hit the left back on the shin and start a counter attack.

I do not believe he attempted a single low cross yesterday.

Shaw's attacking threat is improving, I may give him a new name

Tell me SLM, did LVG sitting down stop us coming from behind against City to score 4 goals?

Our issue yesterday was that the only player who attempted to beat his man was Ashley Young.

Both Rooney and Falcao instantly returned the ball backwards when they got it. You're allegedly two of the finest attacking talents in the world, f *cking remind Jagielka of it!

You do not pay that sort of wages to chaps who can find the net when the defenders give them acres of space, PL is full of strikers like that.

World Class strikers can make their own scoring chances.

On that subject - how worthy of an England call up is Ashley Young, based on his performances this season?

posted on 27/4/15

Jay, I think he's worthy but I also think (and can commend) Roy wants to go the younger player route in the attacking sense.

Players like Welbeck, Sterling, Oxlade, Barkley, Kane and Sturridge are getting chances alongside the older Rooney and it's doing well for England.

I reckon Young's form is good enough for England but it's come at the wrong time as Roy wants to move away from the older players if he can.

I have never been a fan of Ashley Young and believe Januzaj, Nani and Di Maria are more talented but he has recovered some confidence lately and deserves his place in the Utd side.

Definitely deserved a call up for the last break more than Walcott or Townsend based on form
