MW was definitely the best. Required actual skill and killstreaks weren't excessive. And apart from 1, maybe 2 levels, you could not camp. MW2 was terrible. MW3 actually wasn't too bad. Ghosts was distinctly average. I'm surprised it's lasted as long as it has done tbh.

Haven't committed to any since MW3, which I still go on now and then just to play Infected mode, the only game mode I enjoy anymore on COD

Nope as the sheep will still buy, even though people have stopped playing quicker, is it still the biggest selling game after GTA V i believe from last year. So as long as the record sales stay so will the drab recycled carp that is now the cod series. Would love to see a return to WW2 as getting a little bored of the future stuff now, just to hopefully make the game a little simpler, here are 3 dozen different types of grenades, your gun has 13 different varieties and you can jump, skid, rocket fart and have renewable force shields etc etc etc. I would rather rely on decent game play than gimmicks that arent used during the game. What good is it having 20 different types of grenades if you only find a use once in the entire game??

This isnt just at COD though, many franchises have taken this route.

for me the series peaked at World at War !!! a while ago yes but that was the last.only COD that had any sorta recoil and genuine difference in feel to the weapons. Hardcore war .... wow the scores i would rack up on that ... wow !! genuinely a 70-0 to a 90-0 was possible on that game mode if done correctly lol ...... think i actually had a bout a 6.00 k/d.

Black Ops 1 IMO was the best COD since MW1

WaW was weak except for the Zombie mode which I'd almost play religiously, Der Riese was worth the price of the entire game alone, had so much fun in that!

IMO they're going to have to bring out new games every 2 years instead of 1 now or interest will dwindle like it already is

That was the thing with MW1, all the guns felt and behaved differently and you had to tailor them to the situation. Guns on the new ones vary only by fire rate and clip size largely

there as been the case but Ghosts did the poorest for a long time, and I think (and hope) that Adv WF sales were boosted by the release of the consoles and the first christmas that these came out and was pretty much exclusively a console bundle game.... I was also worried by what in the end we were given for Destiny ... so much promise in that game all for rinse and repeat to extreme levels. .... (i could write a whole hate thread on Destiny!!!)

Waw was the best online cod..
great maps and flllukk all of those silly kill streaks .....but was DESTROYED by hackers (still being hacked to this day..have no idea what fun you get outta modding the game)

Modern warfare was good but the made it too easy by putting the noob on every single machine gun so it took the skill out of the game...far to easy to noob someone from across the map..decent maps though..

Modern Warfare 2 was the game changer for me, and still think it is the best.

Advanced Warefare is pants. Haven't enjoyed it at all.

Ghosts was the last one I played. Bought it, played it for a couple of weeks then never picked it up again.

I can't see me ever buying a CoD game again.

I think ghosts is the worst COD game that's been released to date, followed by advanced warfare, what do people think of the recent idea of a mw2 remastered being released?

Ghosts was terrible.

However I think advanced is a good enough game to keep the franchise going for a bit yet.

The online play compared to ghosts is actually quite fun and I like the fun of the exos, I know that sort of thing has been done in other games but it was new to cod and offered a fun new spin on things

The customisation is fairly straight forward too which helps.

I tend to play cod with my misses, people knock cod for its ease of use, however the simple truth is that the pick up and play aspect of it is a big seller for most.

Even on split screen my misses, who ain't a big gamer by any stretch of the imagination, can pick it up and easily keep up.

Online play peaked at BO II. Had some good maps as well as a handful of throw back ones which were fun for nostalgic reasons.

However, in terms of zombies the original black ops absolutely knocked it out of any park you care to mention.

Whoever suggested releasing the four original zombie maps on release for the hardened edition and then later to the rest of the players as a map pack was a marketing genius.

The original BO had some decent zombie maps but when you added the original zombie maps too it to...great move

After spending hundreds of hours on MW1 I was massively looking forward to MW2. Bought it and initially thought it was wicked. After 2 weeks I was bored to tears and had gone back to MW1. The moment cod included rewards for massive kiil streaks (nuke etc) it just encouraged people to hide. MW3 did tackle this is with how killstreaks were set up and I didn't mind that games. Ghosts was terrible. I think there might have been one level I slightly enjoyed - the rest, it was the world's worse game of hide and seek.
