What neither of you are grasping is that Toure does not come from a country affected by Ebola. He is the subject of the song for no reason other than he is African.

I did not say it was racist, nor do I believe the people singing it to be racist...they probably don't even think about it. But there are definite racial undertones in saying a black African man has Ebola, for no other reason other than he is a black African.

They closed their borders because of it though and there were fears it would spread to Cote d'Ivoire. So it would have been pretty relevant to that country at the time.

and like its been explained above, the border of the ivory coast were closed due to fears of the outbreak getting in.

yes, there were no official reported cases, but the ivory coast obviously had concerns about the virus.

youve just said " he's african"

had you said " its because he's black" you may have validated your argument, but you didnt, you said its because he's african ( where the case evolved).

as i said before, maybe more about geographics, less about race

That's not racism. That's ignorance.

Which is why I said it has "racist undertones". If you are negatively stereotyping someone because they are African, even if you are doing so unwittingly, there are quite clearly racist undertones.

conor if I take your comment and change up one word so it looks like this -

Does that mean our Park Park song is racist too?
Genuine question.

"You eat dogs in your own country". Fact. Not stereotyping Park, or any other Korean for that matter. Although I did always find it a bit of a daft song.

"Yaya's got Ebola". A completely illogical insult, based on nothing more than him being African.

So, no.

Park might think that eating dog is immoral though and the chants of "you eat Dog in your own country" are false and insulting?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I tend not to find facts racist. I don't think "you" refers to Park himself, do you? I suppose it could be read that way, although I've never considered it. I read it as a universal "you" i.e. anyone.

Peope like Droog are the reason this site does nto grow, trolling around every day, what's the point of filtering someone ages ago when they are free to slander and insult you and no retort from Admin

Speak to bubbles if you want to find out how my name came to be used, the guy who made 150 articles about Tottenham in 6 months and didn't like it when I brought it all up about how fking sad his life was

Funny world when someone not sticking up for a gang banger and his drugs is the bad guy

People like me, Is that a joke? I far from being a WUM, I find it boring and pointless. I’m here for genuine footy discussion, a light hearted laugh and the odd bit of off-topic. Just because I highlight what you are does not make me a troll and actually you just further belittle the offence of your bigoted bile by suggesting I’m a troll.

Why did you deny you were the same person coming back if you did nothing wrong? When you first came back as Bale’s left boot or what ever it was and people picked up you were WeAre coming back you spend weeks repeating the same old phrase “I don’t know who this WeAre bloke is”. Just as you denied you were the WeAre on Youtube making the most vile of comments. As soon as it was picked up on here the Youtube account mysteriously got deleted.

but surely if you want to dig deep enough, you will find racial undertones in pretty much anything you want.

It would, if that was the implication. I'm not sure it implies "all" Koreans eat dogs. Just that they do eat eat dogs in Korea.

There is a strong rumour that Freddie Grey had spinal surgery just a week before he was arrested and was awaiting compensation from an insurance company. This was due to him being involved in a car accident. If this is true, he could have suffered injuries just from being 'taken down' in a routine arrest or suffered injuries in the back of a police van had he fallen over etc.

The police seem to be delaying releasing the report and there is suspicion that is because it will find no wrong doing. The has been no autopsy report released yet as far as I am aware, so no one actually knows the full extent to his injuries.

Maybe people should wait for the full facts to be released before themselves acting as judge and jury. If it is police brutality then the perpetrators should be brought to justice. If not, then a lot of people should eat some humble pie.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

This isn't going to go down well. These fine peaceful protestors don't respond well to facts, see Ferguson when Officer Wilson was correctly cleared of wrongdoing. You don't need evidence to pull the race card.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

What facts?

Surely the Nemanja song should be considered racist or at the very least offensive. Insinuating he's going to murder you because he's Serbian?

But no, it's not. The Yaya song wasn't even funny, but racist it aint.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Don't be daft, Jay. Saying Vidic is going to "murder ya" has nothing to do with him being Serbian, other than it sort of rhymes with "Serbia". I didn't say the Yaya song was racist. I said it has racist undertones. It's quite obvious.

Nothing at all to do with Serbian's being perceived as nut case hard men? You sure about that?
