I've only really seen the project Morpheus, which does look pretty cool, but not gonna get excited until I see more of it.
Not seen or heard a thing about the augmented reality one.

Simon is it possible to send PM's on JA606??

I know how to get access to the Beta of Rainbow 6 when its out but would rather send it in a PM than a public lobby

We've never coded the pm feature. I can forward and exchange emails if folk want.

VR to me has the best chance of success for a number of reasons, there are a number of companies working on VR devices, 3 will be out by next year and will have decent support, Hololens apparently will also be prohibitively expensive from what I have heard and that alone might make it a non starter both are interesting concepts though but for me VR will be the way forward from what i have seen.

Having said that I am no expert on either but I am looking forward to giving Morpheus a whirl, the only fly in the ointment might be motion sickness

Interesting video we are seeing there dude, already VR meshing with Augmented, but it looks very limited and expensive which would see it more as a fad than anything else. And although some ideas are good the walking about in real locations seems unnecessary, whats wrong with just playing lazer tag or something? But still pretty cool, for more themed things it could be pretty cool - does anyone remember the Alien Experience in London?

I work with VR - mainly using the occulus just now

there is so much to look forward to for the future - many companys are using these now to do various things
E.g Go on a tour of Africa
Come and see inside the palace de versaille

you get the idea

Its incredibly immersive , so much so that developers are given guidelines so as not to make things to tense/scary for the user .....If they can somehow prevent people from getting motion sickness ( which happens very easily when using it ) then the enviroment is limitless really -

Gaming is a verge of a massive change with these things

If you havent experienced one , try and get a shot - the demo stuff is really good fun and you will get a sense of how scope these things have

This revolution is truly exciting. What was once something that was watered down by peripheral visions of whatever u had in your room, is now gone.

There will be without doubt, calls saying it is damaging peoples concept of objectivity, however this will subside.

Until

The first indie game comes out, which involves a "postal" esque narrative.
