Yes, I know him, great head movement, and doesn't need to cheat.
Carlos Ortiz who interestingly was robbed blind by in a fight with Locche because of the bizarre scoring they had in Argentina at the time, was also on the receiving end of a pair of controversial decions to Duillio Loi in Italy.
Fighting on a level playing field he was near on untouchable at lightweight throughout the 60's, well travelled, tough as they come and a spiteful puncher if not explosive puncher.
Beat a total of 5 hall of famers most of them multiple times.
Good link to Locche
How did they score fights differently in Argentina then ?
It was a 20 point must system of sorts but to win a round you had to win it clearly like how we could give a 10-8 round today on top of that you also had to win by a clear 3 rounds or the fight was deemed a draw. It was apparently in place to avoid controversy but only served to protect the home fighters, Monzon's early career is littered with fights he'd have lost anywhere else.
Going back to Locche he held an awful lot in fights, far worse than the majority of boxers around today.

Very interesting. Just wondering how it would have been legal to essentially change the rules by scoring a fight so differently to convention.
Didn't realise that Locche was a big hugger. Bit of Philly Shell going on there as well.

Yeah I just had a bit of a read up on him, very interesting.
He fought in the 70's so if he'd turned pro he would have fought in that golden era.
Did that have anything to do with it as well ?

I never knew any of that. How do you think he would have fared against Ali if the fight had happened ?
There's also the fact Castro wouldn't have allowed him to turn professional, with one comment he keeps everyone on side but make no mistake he would have loved the opportunity to turn professional.
Good article here from The Mirror. Teofilo was a big guy:
