Of course 8bit is going to give all the credit to Wenger for Coquelin's rise. Did any of you honestly expect anything different? Even though he's wrong?
I accept the luck part but we signed him and then gave him a new deal in 2012. Some players are late developers. Coq wanted to play more back then but most gooners thought he wasn't ready and criticised his attitude, and Wenger's one of the best managers for developing young players. So if he couldn't break through I'd say it's more likely down to Coq than Wenger. I never saw this leadership in Coq back then either and I think he's just matured and is ready now.
I think I've mentioned that Wenger got lucky in every post? mug
You're essentially giving Wenger credit for him putting Coquelin back into the side despite alienating him for a couple of years after we had no other option in defensive midfield. The fact a past-it Flamini was ahead of him whereas the younger Frenchman was plying his trade in the Championship says it all.
If you're going to give Wenger for merely signing a young player, you should criticise him in equal measure for all the young players he's signed that have failed/haven't developed. Of which there have been loads, by the way.
But of course, your head is so far up Wenger's jacksie, you can't see things objectively.

------
No, that was the part where I said he got lucky...
I give him credit for realising that Coq deserved to stay in the team and keeping Flamini on the bench. I said after like 4 games that Coq was the answer to our DM problems so if he got dropped for Flamini I would have been fuming.
But it's easy to say all that in hindsight anyway, nobody was calling for Coq to be played at the start of the season or thought he was anywhere near the team. He played on the wing on loan and didn't play well. So yeah I do think that Wenger being an open minded manager gave him a better shot of getting a chance with us.

master-stroke by Wenger youth recruitment and development policy. AW is constantly being criticised for buying young talents and giving them a chance in the first team and giving them long term contracts and there many examples when it didnt go well but with Coq apparently it was entirely down to luck!
========
Let us ignore the fact Coquelin was not part of Wengers plans for the last couple of years (ever since he was no longer exempt from the quota rules) and Coquelin was not offered a new contract despite it running out. Oh, and ignore Coquelin was sent to the Championship to run out his contract.
The masterstroke of youth development would have been to get Coquelin into our team when the need for a combative midfielder was necessary. Not wait until there was literally no other option!!
Wenger has had nothing to do with Coquelins development over the last couple of seasons (in fact there has been no significant development, he was ready 3 years ago) and putting him in the team was out of necessity not choice.
Crazy to say Wenger deserves credit for developing Coquelin when in fact he has stalled Coquelins development for 3 years.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
so not only can Wenger take no credit but we have now moved on to "wenger has stalled Coquelin and held him back"
The delusion is funny but also a bit scary
So you think Coquelin turned this important player for us overnight???
Coquelin has been at this level for a while now, yet Wenger preferred Flamini!!
The delusion is all on the side that this has been all Wengers master plan. 5 years of developing and nurturing Coquelin, pretending to be ready to release him in a move to make him step up many levels over night...
I reckon this is the first instance in the history of football where a manager is effectively attacked for a player breaking into the first team. Can anyone think of any other examples?
The irony is if the people attacking Wenger had their way there would have been no chance of Coquelin making it here as money would have been spent on all kinds of defensive midfeilders who would have most likely been subpar to coquelin

Not a single person has said this though. When you resort to strawman arguements you know you are in trouble.
Pull out now
When was the at this level DJ? in 12-13 when nobody was calling for him to be in the first XI anyway? 13-14 when he was playing on the wing for Freiburg spending half the seaon injured?
No-one is attacking Wenger for Coquelin playing. He is being attacked for ignoring a massive problem for years, and stumbling on a solution is not a reason for praise.
If Arteta, Wilshere and Ramsey were not all injured we would still be playing without a tough tackling CM that has proved very important.
And Coquelin would be a month from leaving Arsenal on a free.

If i run a Venture Capital Trust ( a company that buys shares in risky smaller companies) and one of the investments that i have spent researching and questioning for months doesnt give me good yields after years and then as im about to sell its value suddenly rockets into the sky do I take no credit/?
Do I thank the guys who told me i was deluded to rely on my investments and who told me to invest in other companies?

Why are people so bitter? Just admit it, most of your Wenger critcsisms were wrong. Just be the bigger man and take it on the chin. Whats all this scrabbling around trying to pick holes in all the players and managers success just because you think your pride has been hurt. Man up.
He was a talent then but not ready for the first XI and he was impatient. It's like when Flamini broke through, nobody had a problem that he was about to be sold but then went on to have an amazing season. Football is unpredictable in that way but it's not a coincidence that Wegner has one of the best record in the world (probably the best) for spotting and developing young talent.

I noticed this when Ramsey was killing it last season. It took so long for some haters to admit that he was a good player, and wanted to write it off as a purple patch for as long as possible because the alternative is to admit they were wrong
I am waiting for "Wenger should take no credit for Fabregas/Henry/insert any good player" articles to start popping up. All these guys were 100% luck too.
Wengers genius is clear for all to see here.
Ignore a player for years, let his contract nearly run out, move him out to a lower league, AND OVERNIGHT HE SUDDENLY BECOMES WORLD CLASS
