Pimping himself to the Glazers already

Pleeeease, make the short trip down to the "Bush". That would be a real challange !!

Quite a character this Josepipe fellow. Indisputably, one of the finest managers in the game, but he has an attitude that doesn't evoke warmth.

Roman might be trigger-happy ( or used to be) but there but what is the point of such mutterings whilst Mourinho is still the head honcho at SW6? You would not get Wenger or SAF speaking after a trophy-laden season about managing another PL club.

I think he still wants the United job. With FFP it is likely we will be at least on par with Chelsea on the pitch very soon and he knows this. Jose could dominate English football for years as United manager. Whether we would like his style of play is another issue.

Would be interesting to see if he could handle such a step up.

Cause he wants the United job. Why wouldn't he. The only thing chelsea hold over us is they are currently a better team.
We are bigger and better than them in every other way

posted on 23/5/15

We may be a bigger club but they have a far better team than ours.

As for the quotes, Mourinho has always said he would be at Chelsea forever until told otherwise by Roman.

Wouldn't say it's far better at all. Better yes but far better is well over the top. We are around 3-4 signings away imo.

Their defence is pretty amazing, and it's full of leaders. Hazard is also the best winger in the league. I'd kill to have their defence.

I don't care who has the better team or who is the bigger club.

Frankly, i consider the quotes to be unclassy and not fair on Chelsea fans. Even with the qualifier!

He was asked the question and said should Chelsea sack him he would want to stay in England. But only if he is sacked. Just watched the interview.

I watched it too - in its entirety and ignored the click-bait title of this article.

However, i care very little for the flirtation. Jose is a very clever man and if he didn't want to answer that question in the manner he did, he would easily employ a subterfuge to do so.

Away from what exactly? We're a solid 15 points behind them. And they will buy this summer and improve as well so we will still be behind them next year anyway even if we get those 4 players

What does that prove. Liverpool were well ahead of us last season. As were city and arsenal. Every season is completely different. Guarantee they won't be that far ahead whatsoever at the end of next season.

A guy like Jose, undoubtedly he's the modern era's greatest manager, success where he goes, and he's driven to be the best, but I think should he retire without ever having a stint as the United boss he'll regret it slightly, but I'm sure he'll retire happy with his achievements either way

posted on 23/5/15

Why should he regret not managing Manchester United? Should he regret not managing Bayern Munich? or Juventus? Silly nonsense.

And i don't think he is the non-pareil. He is in the mix with a handful of top managers in this era (Pep/Ancelotti/ Simeone)

"Until Mr Abramovich says, I don't see myself going," added Mourinho. "Any club comes to me now and offers me a fantastic project, offers me twice my wages in the contract at Chelsea, no chance."

I think out of all the rival clubs in the league, Mourinho seems to appreciate United the most. Don't think he stands the likes of City or Arsenal.

posted on 23/5/15

Think a large part of him maybe "liking" United was because of Fergie though.

posted on 23/5/15

It really doesn't matter

Likely to be next season when they exit the CL again and City get their act together in the league under a top class manager

I don't think he is saying "come and get me", I think he is just saying "don't rule me out entirely."

I believe that he is happy at Chelsea but I also believe he was gutted to be overlooked for the United job.

I could be reading too much into this but I think he has improved his behaviour a bit in recent years, partly as a result of being overlooked for the Utd role. Or maybe he has just mellowed with age...
