Simple question

Rodgers has this "Never won a trophy" monkey on his back which is weighing him down more and more. The next guy needs to be someone that has won something recently and performed in Europe. There are managers out there beyond Klopp and Ancheloti like:

Frank De Boer
Mancini
Jorge Jesus

not good enough, you're just making excuses for him

if he was any good, he would have planned for it

anyone who had a side fall from the top end of the table to 6th shouldn't even be allowed to manage again.

So like Rodgers yes?

Jorge Jesus, thats someone I'd like very much. I think Unai Emery could be an excellent choice too.

Would anybody take Laurent Blanc if he left PSG?

All those managers you mention had taken over teams who were already near the top in their respective leagues. To turn them from 2nd/3rd place teams to winners is easier than turning a team that was finishing 7th/8th to winners, especially in a league as competitive as the PL. Just because they'd won the league there, it doesn't mean they could translate that to the PL. The likes of McLaren and AVB have also won there and they couldn't cut it in the PL. having said that they would get some leeway from the fans and press as they have won titles and cups before.

You do make a good point about the monkey on the back thought the longer that goes on, the harder it becomes.

However at some point every manager that has won something, was a manager who hadn't won anything.

What is not yet known is whether or not Rodgers has lost the "locker room". If the team has lost confidence in him then his time is short. Felt sorry for him on the sideline today, he appeared stunned.
Best wishes Gerrard!

My issue now is Rodgers can't attract big name players to the club especially when we are not in Europe. Rafa did, Klopp & Ancelotti would.

I think there are plenty of contenders.

Lots of managers out there who have won stuff, are reasonably young, and who we could (or might) be able to attract.

Klopp, Ancelotti, Koeman, De Boer, AVB, Paco Ayestaran (Rafa's former assistant just won a treble in Israel), Lopetegui, Emery, Rafa himself, Rijkaard.

There are probably others, not saying I desperately want some of those but there are plenty of managers/coaches out there.

There certainly isn't a shortage of candidates and unlike Rodgers many are proven serial winners.

The Klopp thing worries me.

He had Dortmund in a relegation battle for the first half of this season.

It was Hodgson-like at times.

People must remember that the Premier League has 3-4 very good teams. Does the Bundesliga? I don't think so. Challenging B Munich would be a nightmare but can you honestly say that there are other great teams in that league.

Klopp has been hit and miss.

If there's any chance we could get Ancelotti (can't see it) but he should be top of any list.

It's the club that can't attract big names, don't blame the manager for that.

Liverpool, under Rafa were still a top four club, and City hadn't yet come to power and Spurs weren't on a par. That's why they got big names back then.

The problem with a big name manager, is that he wil want big name players, and that means FSG will have to sign big cheques - which they don't want to do.

Unfortunately, FSG have invested too much faith in the financial fair play rules, which are now to be relaxed.

The owners are at a crossroads with the club, and once the stadium is finished they might well sell up.

If they can't build a young team and compete, they have no plan B, because they certainly can't bank roll a team.

What people have to consider, is that a new manager will be expensive right across the board. Wages, new signings and compensation will have to be funded by FSG - and they don't want to spend money.

So really, the last thing FSG want is a new manager, especially if they are considering an exit themselves.

Why is it a sign of anything? Is that all you could come up with?

Email me by all means, and I will send you the screen picture of my log in. I have one profile and that's it.

It's an email address, not my bank details and PIN number.

I mean seriously, going around accusing people of having double profiles? You have to be spending way too much time on here, and it has to be featuring way too prominently in your life for you to even think that up.

Get a job, get a girlfriend, and get out more.

It's just a football forum. Your conspiracy theories are ridiculous.
