'Been playing for a couple of hours but there just seems to be a lack of things to kill?'
You can kill almost anyone and anything
I played it for a couple of hours during the recent free weekend. Was extremely bored, then the tiny FoV made me ill. Just another one of those games I absolutely do not get. The combat, which seems to be the main part of the game, is just "click on stuff until it's dead".
I understand it has a great modding scene, but when the base game is so dull, I don't have any desire to find out.
Seems you have been pretty unlucky. Most bandit camps or castle on hills often have more than 20 bandits and just wait until you find some abandoned dwarvern mines.......I shall say no more, stick with it if you enjoy exploration and killing stuff....ah and yes DRAGONS! Also what format are you on?
Skyrim
Give it time the love will come
On PS3 simon west
To be fair, I did enjoy the first dragon fight!
I found a frost troll and just couldn't kill it... Kept dieing! Obviously was too under levelled as I'm only level 6!
Also, if I buy a horse for 1000gold do I keep it or will it just run off?

This the one on the big mountain?

Yes it was! I tried kiting round it but it would kill me in 3 hits if it got close and I was Doing next to no damage.
Why be very careful?
cos I ain't played for a while but I wouldn't be surprised if it did run off, plus they can get into trouble and killed obviously.
and re:frost troll, try to do some stealthy damage from distance first. that's a really tricky early foe, even trickier than some dragons etc.
Or run into a town and let the town guard deal with it
lol the nearest little village is about 5 mins away, let alone big walled city
I spent so much time on that game...arguably the most addictive game I've played barring footy manager
That's a shame Ronny as my only complaint with the game is if you do a lot of side missions, by about 50% through you become very overpowered and the game doesn't scale so well - dragons you can kill in about 4 hits and that troll will barely damage you. PC version you have loads if mods to help with this to make enemies harder.
I much prefer playing on PS3 to PC, but a while back I watched some videos showcasing mods of all varieties and they are just so impressive. The game can be improved in almost any way you can imagine. Got Oblivion on PC but never modded it.
If I remember rightly a few Skyrim missions are bugged so you can't finish them, they stay in your menu, a character will disappear, that sort of thing, but they're never important to overall progression. I avoided most of the serious bugs (whole save files getting corrupted, massive slowdown etc.) that occurred near the game's release (nearly four years ago!).

These types of games dark there is no comparison PC version ends up 100 times better than console. Just wait and the see the witcher 3 in 6 months. But this isn't to say playing on console is bad, I will be getting the witcher on ps4 as I know this will be a much better experience than on my PC that is getting on a bit!
I'll keep it going, I completed the quest that I was having a trouble locating and now I can enjoy it again!
Your problem seems like the opposite of mine with Far Cry 3. Can't go 2 minutes without being shot at which is just a bit annoying in such a beautiful setting. There's always action in Skyrim if you go looking for it, as well as when it comes to you, but if you want something a little quieter you can find it.
Is Skyrim worth playing on PS3 or is it buggy as feck?

Hell yeah dude. PS3 version is excellent. Any version of Skyrim is worth playing
As above...just don't open doors
How are you playing it? As in, what type of fighting style do you have?
I always liked playing as a stealth archer rather than just charging in with swords. Although there is good value in building up XP in some of the magic schools (away from destruction).
The muffle spell will be your friend
I used to build up my conjuring abilities so that when I wasn't able to sneak up on bad guys I could summon something to fight for me while I ran away and hid.
