Dr. Last season when this club Doncaster thing first came about, there was talk after this season that the dons and Sheffield would merge together as some form of South Yorkshire rugby league club which will obviously be based at the Keepmoat.
I too can't understand why the board are still here as neither the rugby or the football is anything to shout about over the last few months, therefore will not be turning a profit for any money they put in.
Personally you need three things to be successful in football. Firstly you need a board to back the manager In bringing some good players, you need a manager who knows what he's doing and can handle these good players and finally the players brought in which can do the job.
Sadly for rovers over the last two years we haven't had the manager and much of the boards support. This forthcoming season I feel could just be the same again.
The owners of the Dons are the same as the Rovers, there was good money available for better wages and team strengthening. If you listen to my old pal Carl Hall, he decided to reward those who got them where they did on low wages.
Instead of going out and improving the team he gave bigger contracts which took up a lot of the money. It then proved that these players are not up to what was needed for this season.
Other clubs spent money on improving their squads instead of paying more for the same. That to me is bad management which Mr Baldwin obviously agreed with.
Make that 15.
I can't work out whether the board are doing their frugal best or don't really care!
"Club Doncaster" probably seemed like a good proposition on paper and bringing together all the local professional sporting teams does make some sense, given that maximising the Keepmoat stadium's potential as a venue should be a business objective of its owners.
Where the plan has gone wrong is probably on the investment front. I think that we recognise that keeping several balls in the air at once demands more of the owners’ financial resources and a more intelligent approach (perhaps “ruthless” by the standards which we have seen thus far from the Board) to selecting people to run the teams.
Sadly these judgement failures are not marginal. I think we all thought Mr Baldwin was a good choice as Chief Executive, but if his influence is a good one, why are we where we are?
There may be three teams to watch at the stadium, but there may be fewer and fewer people paying money to come along to support them as time goes on.
Well done to the Belles yesterday; at least they are doing respectably well.
I am on record of not agreeing to this Club Doncaster rubbish. Also my views on the merits of Mr Baldwin and Mr Dickov are well known.
Both must be removed before more damage is done.
The latest news that we have offered a contract to a French striker who scored 3 goals out of 33 games last season and has a career best of 6 in the French 3rd division does not inspire.
With the stock of unemployed ex Oldham players exhausted the obvious place to look is the French Third Division, just as we cast the net in the direction of the Spanish equivalent to secure Marc De Val Fernandez. And may I suggest that there could yet be more latent Cypriot talent to fill the cavernous hole left by Abdul Razak?
Perhaps if this one fails, Dickov and his management team could be sectioned.
By the way Elokobi has been released from Oldham, he could be another one for us.
With a scoring record like that, Ba must be Theo's long lost twin brother!
Could be all done " Ba the shouting".
Bury have already been busy bringing in 2 top quality players for league 1. Defender Peter Clarke former captain of Huddersfield and goal scorer Leon Clarke. As mentioned we get linked with the scraps to tussle with the seagulls!
We cannot expect to compete with big clubs like Bury and in any case there has to be time for "due diligence" which is necessary in order to ensure that we do not make mistakes in player recruitment.
Unfortunately we do not seem to be very good at due diligence either.
Can anyone think of anything that we are either good at or have got right?
I know; it seems that "we" did not expect to get into the play-offs at the beginning of the season...and we didn't.
Bravo!
Don, maybe they're hoping for another takeover bid in the hope of having another excuse ready for the forthcoming season!
gawd, you are a miserable lot on here.
will you take Sharp back so you can be even more miserable please.
No, you keep him.
Why should you be happy

Pity they couldn't get Newcastle Azza, however, they are going to be here in Milwaukee at Miller Park baseball stadium on July 14th against Mexican team Atlas.
