Not one South Korean film is a bit of a travesty tbh.
Oldboy, Memories of a Murder, The Wailing.
No Chinese either e.g. Hero, Crouching Tiger
Battle of Algiers, City of God, The Runner (obv), Roma, Cinema Paradiso, Let the Right One in from that list spring out.
Indian films, Mother India has to be there, incredible film.

Only ones I thought were alright were Burning and The Handmaiden.
I have films from Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Mother India is like Carry On standard to me. I know that's going to sound rude/unpleasant and it's not meant that way, just speaking how I feel.

I'm not sure we're talking about the same Mother India film lol but fair enough. First indian film to be oscar nominated.
I think I asked this on another thread, but no La Dolce Vita?
I get the impression you tend to like raw films, very much about the simple realism of people's lives?

I also think it's pretty terrible, although I disagree on Dean. I think it's a masterful performance.
But the film is very pretty to look at, and a colossus in American culture. It was really the trigger for the rock n roll anti-establishment generation.

Actually, I have found my 100th.
It's perfect for this list in fact!
It's as American as apple pie. A John Wayne western.
And whilst the 'story' is as simple as it gets, it's an absolute delight to the eye. Like Visconti's The Leopard, but set in the Wild West.
Rio Bravo (1958) takes my final place.
Apple pie actually originated in England in the 14th century.
