Didnt enjoy Crimson Peak.Throughout the film I was thinking why am I watching this when I could of been watching a much better film in Hitchcock's Rebecca ?
Which has similiar themes.
I also dont think Tom Hiddlestone has a great deal of presence onscreen.Find him to be quite a drab performer.

His Hellboy work was admirable.Well acted and well designed with Del Toro's continue love with practical effects and all things physical
But Labyrinth is his go to masterpiece for me.

See I didn't enjoy it because I did know where it was going,though I was hoping Del Toro would throw up some major twist or something that would've taken the film out of its comfort zone.
There's no doubting the qaulity in the films design,Del Toro is consistent in that sense.But I was wanting so much more and after I left the screening I felt pretty underwhelmed by the experience.

The Shape Of Water does look good though.

My favourite five movies so far this year are A Ghost Story, Tower (the documentary not the crappy Stephen King film), Blade Runner 2049, Raw and Loving Vincent.

Other films I have liked are Dunkirk, Colossal, Baby Driver, The Beguiled, Logan and The Killing Of A Secret Deer.

Out of all the films still to come out before the Oscars in February, The Shape Of Water excites me the most.

Loving Vincent looks interesting, not usually my type of movie but all done in oil paint animation style right.

Hollywood is an overhyped dump of a place

Better to stay in like Santa Monica and travel in for a day. You can see everything in like 2 hrs. Sign is pretty cool but you need to trespass to get close

To be honest Hollywood as a destination has never really interested me.
New York is a place I have been interested in going to and even then its someway down my list of possible destinations.
