Just binge watched Ricky Gervais afterlife on Netflix, was fantastic

Saw Captain Marvel... hmm, the lack of Bryan Robson was disappointing. some false advertising right there!

but no, i thought it was alright. but i guess it will not last in the memory. One major complaint, was the out of place or too on the nose Music choices.
just didn't seem to fit at times, a bit jarring..
Action was standard, nothing really memorable in there... Thought everyone played their parts well.
It was the quieter scenes that seem to stand out...

Thought it was great too. Think since Extra's Gervais has been a bit hit and miss and think he's better with Merchant, but this was really really well done.

Merchant was on Kermode and Mayo the other week and sounds like he's put together a script for a wrestling film that's pretty good.

That film was decent to be fair, the wrestling one. Some funny bits with the family, story was as expected but still good.

I haven't seen it but the general consensus seemed to be that it hit all the right notes.

Did anyone ever watch that TV series that Merchant wrote and starred in? Set in LA, can't remember the name of it.

Yeah I think that was it! Wasn't toooooooooo bad, had a few decent moments.

Obviously not very memorable though

Yup I haven't watched the trailer as I don't want to spoil anything but from everything I've seen so far I've got a weird feeling that Joachin Phoenix is going to absolutely nail it which is no easy task when you look at both Nicholson and Ledger's performances.

Still don't know if Joker will tie into any upcoming Batman movies. Would be a huge shame if Phoenix absolutely smashes it as Joker but then we never get to see him face off against Bats. Would make the whole thing a bit pointless in many ways.

Trailer is pretty underwhelming imo.

Against it because a beauty of the character in Dark Knight was the confusion around his origin story

Joker Trailer looks decent, anything generally I've seen Phoenix in has been decent so he'll do a great job, anything is better than the shiiit show that Suicide Squad put on, no disrespect to Jared Leto.

Hope they recast Batman better than Afleck

Dunno but any movie with "dark" in the title is a red flag for me these days. And I hope that Linda Hamilton doesn't have to eat her words after this movie comes out:

I predict this movie will be much the same standard as the previous three so I'm not expecting much from it or anything particularly new apart from an all female cast

Really think that if the Terminator franchise has a future then it's on TV as a cool TV series. Sarah Connor Chronicles wasn't bad at all.

Well apparentley footage has dropped, been seen by a select few.
People losing their minds seeing Sarah Connor roll up in a truck get out, and Bazooka two Terminators, then says, ‘i’ll be back’..

Now, it does come off cheesy in written form...
but maybe, just maybe.
I just want a good Terminator film.
