Started watching the Wire Tuesday.
Didn't realise it was 13 years old. Only ended up watching 1 episode as was talking family tree shít with my Ma, but the one I did watch was okay, but not spectacular. I assume it gets better?
The wire does get better and you really need to give IT your full attention so that means no talking to your mum whilst watching it but personally I think it's a bit overrated. I think The Sopranos and Breaking Bad dwarf the wire by a country mile but that's just my opinion. It's a very good show but I think a little over rated but it's rated extremely high by many

Don We did 4 bottles of red between us
I know a lot of people champion it so I'll probably give it another go, but I'm thinking in the last few years, things have really evolved it seems so is it still right up there or has it fallen behind? And it's summat like 60 odd episodes so do i want to commit? Tough quandary.
Haven't watched Breaking Bad yet
Breaking Bad dwarfing The Wire? BB was great but it got to a point where it was more about plit shocks than anything else. It fell into the mediocrity of other shows. The Wire on the other hand, nothing will ever even compare.

It will never fall behind, no matter how much time will pass. As I have said before, the character development, the dialogue, the themes, THE SUBTLE STUFF underneath, nothing will ever compare.
Forza
As we discussed before, the more times you watch The Wire, the less the cop side of the show becomes important, in fact the less the important the plot becomes.
Is it really that good.
Them two coppers doing high 5s and stuff seemed a bit lame. But you can't judge off 1 episode so I'll give it another shot next week.
No it isn't that good, it is better than that
Which other series do you put up there Wum?
Sopranos
Homicide: Life on the Street
Madmen
House
Breaking Bad (a bit)
In no particular order of course.
I have a feeling I am forgetting something.
Only seen Sopranos, which I thought was brilliant apart from the last bit
Battlestar Galactica and Penny Dreadful
By the last bit, you mean the last scene? I thought it was brilliant!

Im actually falling out with tv shows now that ive gone on a break. Nothing can replicate the depth and detail of a good book/series.
Which Fargo are you refering to Forza?
