From a United perspective, this is the best possible thing that could happen. I think it would weaken Liverpool without particularly strengthening City.
I can't really see Yaya coming to Liverpool, his brother plays for you but outside of that I can't think of a reason he would come to you (and surely his brother alone is not enough reason)
I don't think Sterling hates Liverpool, he just wants to win trophies and play CL football. He's talented enough to do so and wants to make sure it happens, too much of a risk for him to do a Suarez or a Bale and sign a new contract as he isn't that fantastically talented that one of the huge Spanish clubs will pull out all the stops to get him.. and we all saw what happened when a player tried to leave Liverpool for Arsenal...
His only way to gaurentee he could get out was not to sign a new contract, I don't think it was an intentional insult to Liverpool but rather Sterling looking after his own interests.
Why on God's green earth would Yaya move to a has been club?
We need to get as mu h as possible for him, luckily city desperately need English players, luckily for us city will pay more or less whatever it takes.
I would not be surprised to see sterling go for around £45-55M....its perfect timing from city

City are desperate to get another Shawn wright philipps. We should only accept 40m plus what QPR make out of it.

It is easy to get confused by mirrors sometimes
Most of Liverpool current players moved from smallers clubs for monre money and to play at a higher level, are they góbshites too? Also don't think it was wise for Rodgers to call him out in a press conference and make out it was all about money, as that's when ppl started turning against Sterling. And all the Liverpool pundits/journos slating him just made his exit more likely imo.
Internal....I dont think anyone minds if a player wants to win trophies at another club. What they might mind is a player who's had the opportunity to get to cup finals, to get out of the cl group stage and whos bottled it every time then moans he wants to leave to win trophies.
Add in hes had barely 1 decent season that he starts to spout about trophies, add in hes already at a massive club and a club thats challenged for the title already the maybe u can see y we think its a bit rich....the little dk.

I absolutely agree about Rodgers. It's an old adage at Liverpool but keeping business behind closed doors served us well in the past. He could have just said we are still thrashing a new deal out and it's an important time for the lad blah blah blah! And that would have kept a lid on it.
Having said that it's not the fans fault who up until this spat blew up were four square behind Raheem no matter what and trust me he served up some right garbage along with all his promising displays.
My impression is he never had any intention of staying if he became a decent player and his commitment has simply never been there. He's been moping round all season even before things kicked off.
Good luck to the lad but it's all a very sorry state of affairs with no one really coming out of it with any credit.
TBH if you were mainly relying on a 20 year old to get you to cup finals and to get you out of the CL group stage then that is exactly why he left you.
Surely if he was at a good enough club for his level other players would drag them through into those stages he would simply be a first team player in a successful team, which is why he is leaving IMO.

Agreed, if only raheem conducted himself as such a player but that clearly not the case. He thinks he's bloody brilliant and it's all the others who are letting him down. He thinks he's better than he actually is. In my view his agents to blame for that.
Honestly the lads been awful this season. If city want to wade in with a 40m plus bid we should snatch their hands off.
Didnt pelligrini say he would cost 100 mil and recent independent research said he was worth 60 mil. If they serious they need to up their price considerably
He wants to leave, your going to get a good profit when he goes,so why not wish him well take the money and move on,you're not the first club this has happened too and you won't be the last.
I don't doubt he's a bit arrogant (probably true for a lot of top level footballers) I don't doubt he would have a high opinion of himself (again something that is probably true for a lot of top level footballers)
But I don't think the lad is delusional, this isn't Big Sam claiming he could manage Real Madrid, the kid is good enough to play for a CL team, I'd more than happily have him in the United first team, I'd stick him in the first team for City and Arsenal as well. Even at Chelsea (assuming he's fit and not injured) I would probably have him in the team more often than not, the kid has the ability to play for top teams IMO.
Not relying on a 20yr old merely expecting a 20yr old to knuckle down and give some commitment not worry about the bolox hez talking.
What they might mind is a player who's had the opportunity to get to cup finals, to get out of the cl group stage and whos bottled it every time then moans he wants to leave to win trophies.
........................................
It sounds very much like you were relying on him to do it GB, if not him then who?
If it was just a case of needing a decent performance from someone whilst your other stars guided you through the CL group stages and into a FA cup final then why didn't that happen anyway?
His performances weren't horrific enough to hold you back single handedly, its that you needed brilliant performances from this 20 year old, you needed him to be the star as you didn't have others to step up.

Agree with this. Plus if you are going to bring young players through as a policy then they are invariably going to have to take some responsiblty for results. To be honest Raheem really enjoyed Suarez's presence on the field and since he went he's not been the same player. He needs to think on that.

He probably has, and thought playing alongside a player of similar calibre in Aguero can help him regain that level of performance.
I'm with SAF on this. If Sterling is being expected to be the talisman in this average Liverpool team at 20 years old then it's no wonder he wants to move to a club with less pressures on him individually.
The boy has no interest in staying at the club, the whys and wherefores are of no interest to me any more, its quite frankly boring.
Take no less than 40 million, let him go, move on.
Hell soon be forgotten about, and we can go about spending the money on a top class striker, pay whoever that is, slightly exorbitant wages, due to lack of champions league, like United did, but hopefully on one that actually delivers.
Get rid guys, better off without him!

To suggest Liverpool were reliant on sterling is incorrect, that implies he is the sole decent player. There are several players capable of making a big difference, Coutinho, lallana, sterling and even balotelli amongst others, but none of them did, and sterling was particularly culpable of failing to deliver. As such, it no doubt riles liverpool fans when he says to win trophies elsewhere, as he fluffed his lines when he got the chance to make that happen.
Jlou totaoly agree. But i bet we get 40 mil and then spend it on 5 unknown players
TBH with it being our first year out of the CL in years it was a lot easier for United in that I imagine a lot of players would have expected us to return to the CL in pretty quick succession.
The other example being City, who did look nailed on to eventually get CL as they were spending so much every year. Whilst Liverpool can probably afford the ridiculous wages players probably feel CL football in the future isn't as likely as it was at United last season or City in the season or two before they made it.
£50 facking million?!?! That is facking insanity. £35M at most, if City go over that they are a laughing stock. Thankfully we won't be bidding for him, I was worried we would but that sort of price tag should put anyone off him.
