But I wasn't talking about Chelsea and City, I was talking about Arsenal. Arsenal cannot match United financially which is why we are a better bet to sign him, because it's not just about wages it's also about the fee the club is willing to accept.

This is a pointless debate anyway because he won't come to the prem. But we can all console ourselves with getting one up on rivals with what could have happened in an alternate reality - Arsenal fans' forte.

He's coming to Arsenal!

At least he is until he signs for PSG

There's much of that I disagree with, but then at the same time I do agree that in all likelihood they'd have become greats anyway. But that for me shows that while you are willing to accept that players can achieve this with or without great managers you are not extending the same respect to the players that have made it big playing under Wenger.

A lot of them I do. But some, I do attribute their success to his influence and way of doing things. I'm also not saying that only Wenger could have brought that out in them.

In terms of the Jose argument, that is moreso that his method doesn't allow for young players to rise to greatness like a Wenger or Ferguson's does.

Scholes
Beckham
Giggs
Neville
Viera
Henry
Van Persie

All some of the best ever in their positions, a few legends. All players that wouldn't have gotten a look in under Jose's way of doing things.

And those are just the players off the top of my head.

Good article. If Pogba decided to come to the Prem we'd be front runners Chelsea's stadium is poverty as is their support, actually loads of reasons we'd beat Chelsea not to mention the manager you speak off is not guaranteed last going by Chelsea's track record

Wenger is a massive pull for Pogba and would def get him if he wanted to pay

it's actually incredible that Arsenal fans opinion of Wenger differs depending on the run of form they are in or in some cases the last result .

A couple of defeats to start the season and articles like these will be replaced by the Wenger is tactically inept and can't adapt to the modern game beauty's that were gracing these boards last Autumn.

People are obsessed with this fùcking player

A few decent moments on YouTube and a stupid haircut and he is all of a sudden the greatest player on the planet.

Irrespective of personal opinion (re Pogba) there is little chance of Arsenal even tabling a bid for him.

He is simply far too costly.

Contracted to Juve until 2019 and has a market value of circa £40/£50m, it’s going to take a bid in excess of market value to bring Juve to the table. In view of Pogba’s popularity a bidding war will ensue, which AW throughout his Arsenal tenure has tended to shun.

To portray Arsenal as frontrunners to sign him is laughable.

The likelihood him going back to United is zero in my view. Think he will move to Spain that means RM or Barca. Barca surly favourites. Do we have a chance of signing him? Don't think so.

Everyone is free to make their own judgement on Pogba but for me when virtually every major European club expresses an interest in one particular player, it is certainly an indication that the player has a degree of quality about them.

The people who dont rate him are usually the ones who start their post off with "I havent seen much of Pogba to be honest.."

I see, Pogba single handedly won numerous trophies.

Having watched the player (Pogba) since he moved to Juve, would you not concede that he is a fantastic player though, regardless of his achievements?

I say we are front runners among the EPL clubs for two reasons, firstly I could easily see Wenger again breaking the club transfer record and be willing to pay the initial asking price.

Reason two is pure and simply Wenger. The bidding war you all speak of doesn't get to happen because the player himself rules out the other EPL options. "If I'm going to the EPL then I'm only going to Wenger." As for Barca, he can't go there yet, far as he's concerned players move from Arsenal to Barca all the time.

I'm not that surprised that so many of you say it's madness, the jist of the article is how much you all undervalue Wenger and what his reputation brings the club. Maybe what I should have said is:

Don't be so sure the highest bidder can win this one. Because Wenger's reputation among the French means this is a rare moment when it won't be all about the money for the player. We don't need the highest bid. We just need one high enough to match the asking price and a wage that the player doesn't feel he's lost too much money for the opportunity to work with Wenger.

City, Chelsea and Utd need the highest bid. Arsenal have Wenger, so we can get Pogba without being the ones who offer him the most money.
