Sterling I still believe Kane will be an average player. Something about him just doesn't seem good ha hope I'm wrong
As you say, hard to make a call at this stage as Sterling is a lot further down the progress line given his extra play time.
At the moment though, taking everything in to account (including attitude, ability, etc) I'd rather have Kane.
I think Sterling it the better player, but I'd rather have Kane.
To answer the question posed in the OP, then Sterling.

Isn't one a striker and one a winger?
Surley the goal scoring stiker should be worth more.
Why would someone pay 40m for Sterling anyway? He's not worth it and nor is Kane.
I'd have Kane over Sterling anyway, but take him out of that Tottenham team where he abviosuly loves playing, will he repeat the tally?
Kane is a loyal, hard working player who's hungry for success
Stirling has 11 kids and wants bare money, fam

Kane has the application and attitude that many players don't. That gets you further, not just in football but in anything.
I'm not sure what Sterling does to deserve so much hype. He was rated as a persistent threat in the England game yet what I witnessed was his ability to run toward the box then fail completely time and again, same thing he's been doing at Liverpool for a long time. A good player with little end product. Zaha MkII.
As for Kane, he doesn't look like he should be quality, he's a bit slow but anyone who scores that many goals for a two-bit team must have something about them.
As for who is worth more, two young players with 'potential'... it really depends what you're looking for in your team but I'd imagine they're worth similar amounts.
Kane can look and sound dopey which I feel is something that wrongfully lingers on people's minds when judging him as a footballer. Give him a Moe Szyslak surgery and he'll be loved by all.
Kane has all the attributes to play up top on his own and find the net frequently and from any angle and from nothing.
Agree with the above Sterling is just overhyped by press and pundits.
If Liverpool could spend wisley for once, they could replace him with a proven class winger and still have change left for a new CM too.

I think Kane is seen as the more 'dull' of the two, which for some reason prícks at the subconscious.
Kane had by far the better season last year, but there's still 'something' about him that just seems to be missing - and I've no idea what it is
Maybe he needs to change his name. Harry is a rubbish name.
'Max Kane' would be worth more.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But it sounds like Hurricane.
I could never name anyone Max after Homer Simpson changed his name to Max Power because it said it on a hairdryer
-----------------------------
There is/was a Tranmere player called Max Power, great name!
Kane easily had the better season but cant see him repeating it, Sterling potential has no heights imo so whilst he has not done anything yet the raw materials are all there for him so the skys the limit. Cant see Kane ever playing for the big 2 in Spain where as Sterling maybe
The Ace Face
There is no chance he will turn into a SWP or Lennon. He is the first English player I have EVER seen that plays like he is from another country - england always produce 'CMs' or 'wingers' or 'strikers'. Sterling is a true 'inside forward' with the ability to play behind the striker. Exciting times for England
Sterling seems far more talented, Kane has his head screwed on and seems far more professional. Both of them haven't really done anything and are not worth £30M never mind the prices being quoted for them. I would take Sterling over Kane with ease though.

Disagree, he's hugely overrated due to him being English and having a few decent games,.
He'll go to City and be another Nasri, be in and out the team and eventually leave

Sterling is way over rated, he cant shoot, cant finish, cant head, cant tackle, is one footed and is inconsistent.
Kane has proved he can head, has two good feet, can dribble, can finish, can tackle and has been consistent.
Sterling is still at the potential stage and has not really improved significantly, whereas Kane got better and better as the season went on.
Different type of players I know but Kane`s overall contribution so far has dwarfed that of Sterling. Some say Kane may be a one season wonder, well Sterling so far has been a half a season wonder, if that.
The Mousers want £50m for Sterling and are basing that valuation on potential, because with what he has achieved so far his value is £15m - £20m tops. Sterling reminds me of a young Aaron Lennon without the over hype.
I think Kane could go on and break all sorts of goal scoring records, he is the complete CF and has more to his all round game than Shearer for example and look what he achieved.
You can guarantee that if Sterling played for Spurs he would not have had half the amount of over reaction from the Pool obsessed media, likewise with Kane, if he played for Pool he would be worth £100m and there would be no media campaign to transfer him to United.

More to his game than Shearer?! Do you remember when Shearer started out? Pace, good off either foot, great in the air, could play with his back to goal or off the shoulder of the last man. Kane's got more than that does he?
Shearer became more of a target man as the years rolled on because of injury and to his credit, he still scored a truck load!
I like Kane, his attitude is spot on he appears to have a bit of everything (except pace) but the favourable comparisons to Shearer are nuts.
Sterling is awesome when on form. The last 6 months have been very poor from him but the comparisons to SWP or Lennon are just lazy, he's not a out and out winger. He can play as a wide forward but his best games for us have been at the tip of the diamond behind the strikers.
Offer me a motivated Sterling (not the head-turned, petulant child I've seen since January) or Kane and I'd keep Sterling.
Would happily take Kane if you're selling though....
