We can be interested in Ramos as well as him wanting a better contract, the 2 things aren't exclusive from one another.

Ramos like any sensible person will do what is best for his career and life in general. Whether that's to stay in Madrid and try and get a better or contract or to move to United and try something new, we don't know. But we can still say that from what has been reported it seems very plausible that we are interested and Ramos would like a pay rise somehow, either with Real or by moving to us.

It's what I said, Joe Public just doesn't know. You just about covered most options there. I just read that he is unsettled and wants out. I choose to believe there is some truth in that but common sense just doesn't come in to it. Doesn't mean we will get him either.
Anyhow I am out of here and now expect Schneiderlin to sign first, then Ramos and then a RB oh and possibly Lacazette as the Telegraph are throwing that one around

He may just fancy testing himself in a new elite league, whilst he still can.

Still not getting overly excited though. We've been here before.

He would have come if we had paid £6m to his agent if the rumours were true

So you claim the papers are dross but then think we will get Schneiderlin and Ramos?

I have been highly sceptical of the possible transfer of Sergio Ramos, agreeing with the majority that it is a play for a better contract. However, after listening to the full Graham Hunter report, and without my transfer senses being at full Muppet, I believe that Hunter's report is true.

If it didn't have the "Ramos only wants Man United" then I would say, yes, contract bargaining. But as, Hunter says, he only wants United, it is a bit specific isn't it?!

I actually believe that there is an actual possibility that this is going to happen. Previously, I didn't.

I was half joking there saying we would sign them all including the Dutch keeper !!
Not sure why you are so in love with our sports media.
I was pointing out as you and Mata both go on about certain dross papers when I am saying they are all on the same gravy train, some juts more ridiculous than others. They all get transfer speculation wrong. There is no definitive source !

Not bad at all that. We'd play lovely football that's for sure.

Wiki says he's a United player . Attacking Midfielder, does he play centrally or more winger style attacking mid? Where will he fit?

Is Turan guaranteed to hit the ground running though? Di Maria is better when on form and maybe he will be better in his second season.

Iron

But you don't seem to understand that some (the minority) do have direct access to players, agents and clubs, which is why most transfers are actually reported in some degree before they are concluded. That is why I said you have to use common sense to sift through the krap to see which ones are likely to have some element of truth in them and which ones aren't.

This is also why when using common sense rumours such as the one about Cillessen are probably untrue when you understand he isn't that good and LVG doesn't just buy players because of their nationality.

I really don't understand why this is so difficult for you to understand?

He can play anywhere across the midfield. Has been playing on the right but has played centrally too in the past, good assists but lacks goals overall. Bit hot headed too. Would be a good buy though.

He doesn't score many goals by the looks of things. He got 3 goals in 46 games last season.

Price seems WAY too much for a 28year old who is hardly top bracket.

Definitely BS this one.

good job the club spent that £6m on powell instead.

See, common sense would conclude that the Turan stories are untrue, seeing as we don't need another #10.

Great player but we simply have too many players in his position already.

A worse, less productive version of Mata.

1982 - Hardly any of them if any of them I suspect really know what's going on at a club like United. Obviously you may get deliberate leaks from insiders or an agent every now and again.
Fans love the gossip though and it creates debate, argument throughout the land on forums like this, in offices, on twitter etc. and of course it helps sells papers.
Still won't be surprised if he buys that Dutch keeper though

posted on 29/6/15

Last position we should be adding now is another Attacking midfielder.

CB, RB, DM & ST are all far more vital. And a keeper too if Dave doesn't get his wish.

Common sense tells me he is just the sort of player LVG likes. technical, team player and can play across the whole midfield not just as a no. 10 !
You and your bloody common sense !

Was Turan the guy that chucked a boot at the lino last season?

posted on 29/6/15

All depends what United (or any other club) want from the media. It was pretty clear that United were using the Guardian over the past couple season with some really obviously propaganda to portray the club in good light.

Like I said journalists will go through their contacts and when it's about things like transfers you don't really need the clubs, the player's agents will be more than happy to speak to them to help create a fuss which could lead to their players getting a move or contract.

Oh here's another one for the Sky, BBC reputable media outlets that are so loved on here and taken as gospel

Taken them a few days to publish that despite the same story knocking around in several other 'dross' papers

Yes but by the same token agents will feed journos rubbish too if it's in their own interests !

And that's where you use common sense. There is clearly something going on with the Ramos rumour, it's not made up like most stories. Whether he wants a new contract or a move the story has weight to it an isn't some BS which we seem to hear most days.
