The wrong decision

I'm sure people would be prepared to get behind Lennon, even though many of us would have reservations - it's not like he's pulled up any trees at Bolton, while even Gordon Strachan can win a Scottish title and I wouldn't want him anywhere near our club. Dyche seems to annoy a significant section of our fanbase, while Allardyce remains an unpopular choice despite his record, mostly for his style of football; neither would be welcomed or given much goodwill. The one I really hope doesn't happen is MON, that feels like a sad disaster waiting to happen.

As for whether it's the wrong decision or not, I'm with El Zorro - we can only really speculate on why it's been made, so how do we know? For instance, if he's been insufferable since the sacking of Junior then he may have dug his own grave.

Pearson is a stubborn man; it's his greatest quality and biggest flaw.

That's where you're wrong BS, he has clearly stated that he doesn't necessarily want a top 4 side, instead he wants a club that presents a challenge!

That would be Liverpool then!!!!

Dyche is looking a favourite for me unless they pull someone out the bag, he would likely continue the way we've been going.

Anyway, it would be interesting to see an interview where he couldn't talk about having no money!

There are certain merits to Dyche, but I maintain that his transfer record last close season was awful. If I was Top or Vichai and seriously considering Dyche, I'd want to be convinced that he could do better than targeting Marvin Sordell and Lukas Jutkiewicz.

But whose buying policy do we work under now, the Manager or the board?

At least he'd give us stability and seemed to work well with his limited squad last season.

Actually, it was Cambiasso that was responsible for our change of formation and style of play, not Pearson's. They had a meetin before the West Ham game and Cambiasso lead it so I see no reason why he can't be manager!

This is little more than hearsay arro, we have no idea whether this is true or not.

The formation change first came about when we played Arsenal away, that was the first time we went with 3 at the back. Albrighton wasnt being used at the time but I find very unlikely Cambiasso would be responsible for changes in personnel and formation and this discredits the work NP has done.

i'm sure the next manager the owners chose will be proven in the Premiership and can talk to the press without seeming to be a bit weird Rules out Holloway

According to all the media reports they want Neil Lennon Nev. If there is any truth in that it would be massively underwhelming and represent a sideways step at best.

The worry for me is that Neville and Rudkin will be involved in the decision making. Not good....

Lennon, sideways move? From Pearson? Would be very much backwards in my opinion. Done nothing at Bolton and I reckon that any of us on here could manage Celtic to the league title.

You'd imagine that if we wanted Lennon then we'd get him: It's his ideal entry into the Premier League and frankly I can't imagine that Bolton would be that bothered about letting him go. But that's a problem in itself.

Joby - agreed, I was trying to be polite to him! Legend as a player but it would be a poor move for Leicester.

Unfortunately for us the people likely to be advising the Thais dont exactly have much of a track record in managerial appointments themselves

Actually BS it's not hearsay, it came from a directors mouth so it's 100% true, therefore I'm going to class it as fact 👍

Nice to see Hammond signing a new contract today, somebody must be calling the shots.

Mersey yeah Liverpool would fit the bill except they have a manager.

I can't believe anyone wants Dyche. Never stopped moaning about how he didn't have any money to spend and telling everyone how his players weren't good enough!

Tactically inept with one formation and no other ideas. See how he gets on next season without Ings and Trippier.

Not once did we hear that from Pearson, he took all the flack so his players didn't have to!

Not convinced by Lennon.

Fat Sam has ruled himself out according to the papers.

Not being left with many options.

I can't believe people are even settling for any of the names that have been mentioned, if we recruit anyone apart from Hiddink or Klopp then I'm sorry but the owners will completely lose my faith.

As far as I'm concerned, this is the biggest mistake we've ever made and like Harry Redknapp said, who is going to do a better job than Pearson? None of those mangers that's for absolute certain. All of them are fooking shiiitttt and we should not be going anywhere near! I mean Lennon? What the actual fooook? NoThis the man to lead us to the top 10 and neither are why if the others! That bag had better have some quality pulled out of it sooner rather than later otherwise we're in a world of trouble.

Glory yeah Rudkin and Neville mate

^ who incidentally both rate Lennon 😔😏

I think maybe given the fact that Pearson came back and it worked, if forced I'd be open to MON but nobody else, they'll all take us down.

And the transfer market is a real worry for me because we need someone who is going to bring in players that fit the players we have in terms of character as well as ability. This is something Pearson is extremely good at and I am seriously concerned about disharmony creeping in, which it will if we sign players with the wrong attitude. This is a real mess.

I can genuinely say this is the first time I've doubted us since giving them my full confidence and support at the start of the Championship winning season. I was convinced we'd improve and we did and I was convinced we'd stay up and we did but now I'm not convinced about anything at all. In fact I feel really pessimistic, which is not like me at all.

posted on 2/7/15

All options except Hiddink and Klopp really worry me and if we chose any of them then the owners will definitely lose my support
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well there is absolutely no chance of either of them particularly Klopp who could literally get any job he wants.

Di Matteo has premier league experience and has won the Champions League, he would be great. Ladrup got Swansea playing good football and up the table as well as winning a cup which makes me feel he would also be a good appointment and having one of the best players of the last 30 years at the club will do a lot to inspire some of the players

Do you have any proof of that? Did anyone write it down or record it in any kind of way because if not then it is just hearsay.

Also if we get Klopp I promise to donate £50 to foxes foundation, it is never ever going to happen

Almost all Baggies fans, including me, felt all of these sentiments about Tony Pulis, but trust me, a Baggies fan of 50 years, having listened to Tony Pulis and seen what he's done so far, I wouldn't want any other manager now, so maybe there is a way in for someone you might deem unpopular just now.

Arro, just because you've spoken to one of the directors (and there are a few, both executive and non executive), it doesnt mean its not hearsay and it certainly doesnt mean its a fact.

How likely is it that a player is dictating to a manager of Pearsons calibre how to pick his formation!? We were already playing 3 at the back before West Ham, so the argument doesnt stack up.

posted on 2/7/15

That may be. I think people could get behind Dyche as he comes across to me as a pretty decent guy; so once he was in charge and people saw the players putting in effort I think many would drop their initial objections. That said, my concern is about his transfer dealings, so I have longer term concerns.

With Allardyce, his record is good yet he's been unpopular with each club he's been at for some time now. I don't see that we'd be any different, so while staying up would look likely, I think fanbase unrest would be equally likely.
