One could also wonder about Charlie Austin...seeing as no-one has snapped him up
i'd quite like us to buy him though
Kane is quality, won't be coming to OT though
I wouldn't actually be totally against signing Austin as back up to Rooney. I sure we could do better but there is a lack a top forwards available and he is PL ready. Impressed last season and 15 mill is pocket change to us compared to the 40 mill plus Spurs would look for for Kane.
Charlie Austin would actually be a far more sensible purchase than Falcao as your 3rd striker. Not sure whether he'd be happy sitting on the bench all season though.
I wouldn't touch this signing. Would cost massive money and even towards the tail end of last season seemed to get found out a bit. I think he may well be a one season wonder and Spurs would be wise to sell for anything upwards of 20 million but time will tell
we'll see with these two...second season syndrome may kick in on both
Presuming Austin is bought by a Prem side that is...
Wouldnt pay over the odds thou
it would be funny to see the suicidal spu ds fans on here if he signed
I think Kane has the making of a very good player. It's not just his goal scoring exploits that were impressive last season but his intelligence. He always looked to play the slide rule pass through the lines and had a bit of vision and awareness about him that you don't see often with the one season wonders.
Charlie Austin is likely just another Andy Johnson, but Kane looks a top 4 prospect. Whether that means he'll be a United-level striker is yet to be seen and I agree with the sentiments that any move for him should not come off the back of one good debut season.
If I was United manager trying to find a top class strikerwwould actually be a massive priority for me.
RVP Is done and Rooney can still turn it on every now and again but as a consistent top level performer I think he's finished.
I'll go out on a limb and say Kane is likely to be another Andy Johnson. His all round play was okay (but not brilliant by any stretch). If you watch his goals, so many of them were scuffed, deflected or just simply went in off him. He won't repeat that imo
No doubt about it he has burst on the scene and had a fantastic season. Very good striker of the ball and can hold up and run with it. lacks a bit of pace for me perhaps and agree he needs to repeat this last season as you wouldn't look at him like some young forwards and say he was nailed on for the very top.
We do need a centre forward and from what I have read and heard from people that have seen him Lacazette should be one we chase

So many of them? Or if we're being accurate, about 4 or 5, leaving over 20 that weren't. What striker doesn't get those kind of goals anyway? I know Rooney has had loads and he's done well with you.
The reason I don't think he'll be a one hit wonder is because of his age and attitude. You can tell already how good his attitude is on the pitch by his workrate and desire to get the ball. But the fact his improvement has skyrocketed in such a short time suggests to me how much he must have worked hard to do that. If you have this attitude then you won't end up a one hit wonder, unlike so many others who don't bother knuckling down.
Spurtle - yeah sounds likely
Reading this article I wondered whether Rooney was as impressive as Kane before United signed him. Can't be bothered to check.
Rooney hadn't produced anything like the season Kane has had before we signed him from Everton, not even close over the period of time Kane has been scoring for.
Although Rooney was a fair bit younger wasn't he?
Spurtle you were getting excited about Dross Townsend too. 'Spurs fru and fru' etc. Just calm down

There were far more than 4 or 5 tbf.
Interesting to have a Spurs fan commenting here though. What are your expectations for Kane? I've stated mine.
Mr Chelsea
If I were Daniel Levy I would be hoping for offers for Kane right now
Yep. You cant even put English tax on the guy. He's not even good enough to qualify for the add on tax. £3-5m at best imho.
It's guessing to say he will flop.
But to get than many goals with so little talent around him he deserves a bit more credit. He takes up good positions and has good strength for his age.
He's not a Darren Bent say relying on pace and just tap ins
