Asking any man, on whether he was going to get fired is out of oder. But this is Sky so expect zero class from that lot. We all watched what goes on behind the scenes at that company last season.

i dontt really have a problem, its like when the media ask a politician if he's gonna quit/resign. If you cannot stand the hard questions get the hell outta dodge. Also Hodgson didntt lose 8-2 to man utd if he did, shreeves wouldve asked him if he was gonna quit.

Scribe it's not particularly Shreeves I'm aiming this at. It could quite easily have been the BBC. It just happened to be him this time, but straight after a match in a live one on one interview to ask that seemed crass.

I think there are better ways of scrutinising or criticising the manager without stooping to sheap shots because for the life of me I couldn't see what he expected to get out of it except to try and get a rise out of Wenger.

Regarding Harry, I'm sure he does keep the press onside but does that mean a manager who doesn't is fair game. I also think there's more to it with certain manager like Harry and it's all to do with who they're pals with etc.

Imagine if he said something similar to fergie , shreeves would be lucky if he was not decked!

Yes sky has pumped billions into the premier league , equally it is making huge profit through the success of the premier league. However, it does not give licence for the likes of shreeves to treat managers with disrespect. Sky lack class, always have done.

Scribe, the likes of harry do what they do for obvious reasons, to try and carve out a career in the media. He sees himself as a celebrity and by pandering to the media it satisfies and massages his ego. No wonder spurs fans quip sarcastically that one day he'll become the full time manager of the football club !

Agree with your main points. However, ask yourself, what sells papers/gets searched the most on the internet? The controversial stuff! The reporter was asking a valid question/looking for a reaction that can really make the front pages, for example, an emotional Wenger feeling the pressure, losing his rag at the interviewer and the following morning being branded as a man who is on the next flight to france! For asking Wenger about his future, is just journalism and shouldnt be linked to disrespect.

Now i am going to take your word that shreeves didn't ask Hodgson that, having no proof myself. If that is the case then I think you should be careful about branding the racism card (i.e. he attacks foreign coaches in interviews and not English ones). Perhaps Shreeves felt that Wenger is currently a much higher exit-risk after 3 games than Hodgson was last year. 6 years, no trophy and growing unrest from the fans compared to a brand new manager with a couple of poor starts doesnt really compare, especially when you factor in that Hodgson had just done the unthinkable and taken Fulham to a European final. Wenger is in a worse position at the moment that Roy Hodgson was after 3 games last year for liverpool. Fact.

So i'm not really sure where youre coming from there.

if you see how these guys behave with foreigners and english managers its unbelieve.

i remember the itv touchline rat, he would ask sir alex the questions he would like to be asked. When its rafa benitez he attempts to humiliate him.

Totally 100% agree with OP. Ive signed in just to write this. Geoff shreeves interview with wenger disturbed me too and i dont think im exxagerating. Just look at how geoff approaches fergie and look at how he approaches wenger. But because wenger has some class about him. He answeres every single one of that rat's questions and didnt once shy away from them

Also fabio capello. Straight after the defeat against germany in thhe wc. First question from a jumped up young london journo " fabio when are you gna resign. Are u gna resign now "

Rest my case

So that BS loser is above criticism now is he ?

Shouldn't ask awkward questions should they ?

Too precious an ego has he ?

To hell with Wenger, since when was a manager not even accountable ?

It's not their job to kiss Wenger's pampered behind. They are expected to veer away from the stage managed and sanitary !

That's much more the domain of the match day programme !

Shreeves is becoming more of a WUM each season.

Shreeves wouldn't ask Roy Keane the same question, I almost felt sorry for Wenger, almost.

Typical Sky reporters imo .

All of them ask questions merely to antagonize and to get a reaction.

I really get the feeling once they put on a Sky shirt they believe they can basically do as they please .

Harry knows how to put them right

By who's definition "Scribe" ?

I really don't think paying neutral's care much for lame answers to even lamer questioning !
