So who will be our next 'leader' be?

Yeah but he'd get nowhere near that anywhere. He'll be lucky to accept £50k that we offered. Can't see anyone paying him more.

But isn't Sako more of a wide player - that isn't as good as Mahrez, Albrighton or possibly Schlupp? Would seem both a pointless and divise signing to me.

We need two experienced and talented midfielders and we need them now!

Sako was being looked at seriously when NP was here likely as a pacey alternative to Albrighton (who he never rated) so you would have sako and Schlupp tearing it up down the flanks.

Unlikely to be happening IMO now that Ranieri is here.

Isn't it Steve Walsh that identified him as a target though, not Pearson? If he fitted Pearson then he fitted the club ethos at the time and Ranieri isn't going to change that or choose players, that's down to Walsh.

He's got potential and Sako was better than Mahrez in the Championship. He works hard and has a great attitude and we do need another winger. I agree we need two central midfielders asap too. Really hope we get Mendy and/or Kante.

Hey arro, agreed Walsh will be scouting and recruiting with Rudkin. From what I've read (no facts here), NP was very hands on with all elements of the running of the club, including identifying targets along with Walsh. So I wouldn't be surprised if Pearson also had a list of names he rated, whereas Ranieri isn't like that, he just tends to approve targets.

While Sako fitted club ethos, it's an ethos which very much reflected Pearsons approach. Pace, counter attacking and giving 110%. I don't think this will change much under Ranieri but he has said he wants to bring Italian tactics to leicester, so I think there will be more of an approach on ball retention and possession.

That's me speculating though

Yeah I know Pearson was well involved but how would he know which players are worth looking at? I would have thought that would all be down to Walsh? I just don't see Pearson having the time or ability to watch players. Again I'm purely speculating though.

read about the "Italian tactical way" and it refers to defending. When Chelsea finished runners up, they did it conceding the least amount of goals in their history. He has identified that we conceded too mamy and indicated that he wants to change that.

How that affects our counter-attacking game I don't know?

Big boots to fill - Xabi Alonso and Michael Carrick are both near the end of their contracts apparently. Unfortunately Alonso still seems happy at Bayern but the new arrivals at Old Trafford might result in bench time for Carrick despite reassurance from LVG. Who else could we dream of ?
