Thought Njie (sp) looked promising yesterday against arsenal.. Played just of the striker and looked a threat.

Sven Bender or Kramer would be excellent for us but would cost a lot

Would be happy with berahino and Bollassie tbh.

Berahino would compliment Kane perfectly for home games and for away games we could fit one of the two into the role depending on the defence

With regards to Bollassie we have not had a winger who has pace and can cross since Bale was in the left so this guy has to be high priority imo

Bollasie & Berahino would give us real pace up front, something we need if we are going to progress!

It's not just about pace IMO we don't have a CM who plays forward passes quick enough.

If we go back to modric his transition from defence to attack was in a split second where now we take an age allowing the other team to get there shape back.

I like the idea of Berahino but Bolasie is a bit of a risk signing if you ask me. He has never really shown that consistency and if he does not hit the ground running then he'll never make it.

Sissiko is a player that would play nicely next to Bentaleb. A player with energy that can break. I could only think of Ramires who would be better suited and Chelsea would never sell him!

Bolasie's cr-p.
Inconsistent with very little end product.

He'd be an awful signing.

Great signing if it happens, especially at 15m which is hard to believe!

He will turn out to be a class forward

Morning genius.

Not saying that it won't happen, but 'according to the Sunday express' doesn't mean a lot. They'll make stories up all year long.

But I know we've been linked elsewhere so who knows. I find it hard to get excited about the prospect of signing him but I can't argue with his record last year.

Hard to believe it will be for £15m... Reckon they'd want £20m +

posted on 26/7/15

Any bid of less than £25m will simply be laughed at. Absolutely zero chance of you signing him for £15m

In the current climate, at his age and the fact he's English. Probably around £25-30m would be required

Not to sure on this lad started well last season but seemed to fade out.
Imo I think Austen from QPR would be the better option.

This!

Sometimes it is not all about a recognised striker, goals should come from all positions given the work ethic and creativity. Take a look at this Dier goal against West Ham from last season. A text book bit of creativity, simple, quick and Dier is not a striker.

I think that H is right, what we miss most is a midfielder with creativity and a work rate from others to make it work. What was Dier doing playing off the shoulder of back four? That is where our attackers should be, not standing about watching.

Austin isn't a better option IMO as Berahino can play multiple positions where Austin would just be a understudy to Kane

Topgeezah

In a perfect world that would be ideal but in reality it would cost us £30m > £40m and we just won't spend that.

If Poch wants to risk youth then we have plenty of forward thinking midfielders! Alli, Pritchard and Carroll

Austin (or a player of his ilk) should definitely be the priority for us. Someone who can lead the line, not just do a job up there.

I think the majority of is presume Kane is just going to pick up from where he left off, be our mainstay in league games, and score lots of goals.

Even if he does, we need a player who can play when he is injured, suspended, or in the numerous cup games we will play. We don't need to just lump Berahino up top and expect him to do it on his own in these games, we need someone who will be strong and has real presence, and who can drop in and the team will not suffer.

We also have to consider....

What if Kane does not carry on? What if he does a James Beattie, and is only decent next season?

What if he gets a serious injury?

For me it's Austin (or similar) AND Berahino (or similar) The former being by far the bigger priority. Unless of course Ade is staying.....

Just H

No reason we wouldn't spend 30-40m on those two in my opinion.

We are about 10m up on sales already, and look to be shipping off Ade, Soldado, Lennon and Chiriches for probably 20m at a Conservative estimate.

Nail on the head and I have been saying this for weeks

Like for like for Kane AND an alternative style striker is very much needed

Met a lot of illogical resistance however. People seem to think that if Kane is injured then berahino will do what Kane does. Which is of course nonsense as he has a totally different style

Understand that but just can't see us doing it buddy... We are still in need of a better standard CM IMO too

Going to be a interesting few weeks seeing how we evolve with the players leaving and players coming in.
