Ibe is the next Barnes, Reine-Adelaide is a French train station.
Some Liverpool pundits reckon Ibe will be better than Sterling, if he isn't already.
Reine-Adelaide in couple of years will be one of the best young player around. Ibe.. who?
Ibe is actual quality. A bit bullish about his talents though. Always fancies himself and tends to take the selfish option more often than not. A lot like Ross Barkley from what I've seen of him.
Any hype around Jeff is extremely premature. Yassin Fortune (the other kid that came in the £3M deal) is the better player apparently. He's got far more to do/go physically to get to the first team. As is he'd do his knee within the month.
Never heard of him. Hopefully Ibe kicks on and takes his chance this season like Sterling did. Maybe then he can be compared.
Ibe was deemed a success at loan at Derby last season. Apparently he had 'bulked up' a bit from his time on loan at Birmingham City.
He has bags of pace and would take on defenders and had a few goals in him.
I personally though he was a great runner with the ball at his feet.
I felt his final ball and or decision making needed to improve, but given his age, of course it would.
We were sad to see him recalled to Liverpool, but pleased to see him take his chance.
For what its worth, I rate him better than Sterling - Ibe is a great prospect if he learns and keeps his feet on the ground.
Oh come on Sterling is the far better talent than Ibe. Think of Sterlings best performances against ibes. There is no comparison.
Lmao no Arsenal fan even heard of this guy before the weekend now hes the next big thing

They are quite similar. Sterling maybe a bit better at shooting but Ibe will develop that.

Only because Sterling got the chance, Ibe has everything Sterling has plus he's bigger and more powerful!

Of course Sterling is at the age where he can no longer develop as a footballer.
I don't believe yous would be saying that if sterling stayed. Sterling is the best English player imo
Ibe isn't top ten though I do rate him
To be honest, all 3 have not proven anything yet, although Sterling and to a lesser extend Ibe have shown glimpses of what player they can become.
I cannot remember any hyped youngster living up to it's potential in the last five years. From the Golden Boy list the last one to make it to the top 5 of his position is Aguero (2007!!!). Then you have Anderson, Pato, Balotelli, Gotze, Isco, Pogba and Sterling. The first 3 failed miserably, while I can see Gotze and Isco not making it either if they stay at their current clubs. Funny enough Neymar hasn't won the award, but has proven himself already at Barca and Brazil national team.
I'm lead to believe that Ibe was originally thought to be the more likely of him and Sterling to make it. I can't help but think that much of that came from concerns over Sterling's physical presence when compared to Ibe very obvious physical attributes.
Sterling is much the better player at them moment. Shouldn't even be a discussion.
That's not to say Ibe doesn't have talent though, he clearly has it in abundance. What struck me immediately about Sterling was his positional awareness, he seemed to understand what he was supposed to do and where he was supposed to be in relation to other players on the pitch. It's incredibly rare for such a young player IMO and it's allowed him to make an impact at that young age.
It's unlikely Ibe will have an 'explode onto the scene' season in the way Sterling did a couple back. Not impossible but unlikely. One thing I do know for sure however is that I'm excited about what he can bring to the team.
Firm in hoe
Spot on, well put.
I don't think Sterling and Ibe are similar at all, other than both being attacking players.
Sterling is tactically very good, he tracks back well, tackles and intercepts well for a small guy, and is deceptively strong. His off the ball movement is very good, and he is very very quick with and without the ball. He is not very good technically in terms of ball striking, that's the only thing really missing from his game of the main attributes you would want. His left foot is just for standing on. He plays with his head up well and can spot a pass but the execution can let him down.
Ibe on the other hand strikes a ball fantastically, with real power on either side..He is a very powerful runner and has more tricks than Sterling on the ball. His off the ball work is not as good though, both attacking and defending, and too often he plays with his head down, looking to dribble passed everyone when teammates are better placed.
I think Sterling will ultimately be the more effective player, but Ibe will more be exciting to watch and will do things that Sterling can't. I expect Sterling to be more consistent over time, but Ibe can be a very good player. How good Ibe becomes will be determined by his goals tally, as I don't see him being a serial assister. I think Sterling can be more productive for others while not necessarily being prolific himself.
Never seen this Arsenal kid so can't comment on him.
If rodgers lets Ibe play his game instead of trying to turn him into a wingback, he has the potential to go as far as he wants.
Rodgers got too obsessed with players being able to "fill in" rather than play them where they are best....markovic has been the same as he isnt a wing back.
Ibe will become the better player. I think if he stays injury free and gets a run he will develop into a key player for us. Lets judge him after 100 games. His stats will be far superior to Sterlings imo
So many new posters are absolute cringeworthy mugs. And this board is surpassing even its usual level of shi.ttiness today.
If Ibe plays his cards right he could be the next Zaha!
For what it's worth, I got the same feeling watching R-L's first game in an Arsenal shirt to the first time I laid eyes on TH14 at the world cup.
Ibe is a great outfield player with quick feet, huge potential but gets himself stuck in deadends a lot. Once he learns when best to pass he'll be fantastic.
Reins is a goalkeeper. He hasn't played for us in a long time.
