Hi nadz
1. yes you do need a PS+ sub, but in all honesty I wouldn't reccomend buying a PS4 if your not going to Subscribe to PS+
2. Share play can work really well, the one time I did share a game (The Order) he was saying it was just like having the game, but I think it depends on your internet as I have heard stories of others who have struggled.
3. Not all games are available for shareplay, it depends on the studio programming the game to utilise it or not (most you can)
4. I have two accounts on my computer, games I download on my main account show up on my other one too (including PS+ games) I use my main account and rarely use my other one, so there may be some restrictions but not sure what.
Hope this helps and enjoy next gen
When you get a PS4 it asks you to select a primary account, make sure you buy the PS+ subscription on that account so all the other profiles on the PS4 can play online.

Interesting. So if I want to play a game together with the host i'll need a PS+ sub. Guess that makes sense. They can't give everything away free. How much is a PS+ sub for a year?
£40/year.
But if you miss renewing it by just one day, you lose everything, your PS4 gets bricked and Sony send guys round to your house to burn it down.
Hobo is nearly right, it is about £40 for the year but there are plenty of cheaper deals around, any games you get free with PS+ are only available to play as long as you have an active PS+ account, if it lapses those games will not be lost but you will need to reactivate your account to play them again.
Of course any game you pay for is available anytime but you do need PS+ to play online.
My PS+ ran out recently and the cheapest I can find is £35. Xbox live is so much cheaper
The main qualm i have is I've got like at least £50 worth of downloaded games on my PS3 which i sometimes will like to play even if I get a PS4. And connecting both the PS's makes such a mess with wires etc. Can I transfer the games over to the PS4?
Sorry nadz, there are a few games (very few) that are crossplay (Journey a recent example) that you can download for free on the PS4, but for the most part PS3 games are seperate from PS4 games.
I doubt you'll ever be able to play PS3 games on a PS4. Emulating the PS3's Cell Processor with the PS4's hardware would likely be impossible.
Hobo depends on the game, there are quite a few of the simpler games like Journey that are available, and quite a number of bigger games Final Fantasy etc, along with some remasters, if your willing to pay for them
most of my PS3 downloaded games are PS2 classics tbh. Games like San Andreas and Vice City. Don't see the point in rebuying them again for the PS4.
I think you just need to accept it's a new gen and as such offers next gen experiences, my PS3 ended up in the bedroom but don't really play it.
True. Anyways thanks for all the helpful info guys. Appreciate it.
Amiga - they're ports though, re-written for PS4 hardware. I was meaning you wouldn't ever be able to play a PS3 download game on a PS4.
That's not knocking the PS4; the Cell Processor is just very difficult to emulate.
Yes simply sticking in a PS3 game would be tricky, like you say the Cell would be tricky to emulate, although PS Now will allow you to play PS3 games, not sure if thats some sort of emulation or what?
