A lot of talk about us signing Enrique from Liverpool which would be a decent move!
I think you may have to show some patience with Serge Gnabry. He barely played last season (was out for 15 months), and hasn't been involved in pre-season (was at Euro U-21).
Think you may have to be restricted to sub appearances for a month or so, although looking at how you played last night I think he will soon establish himself in your starting XI.

Not convinced by Salomon Rondon, tbh. Didn't look great in the CL, and wasn't impressed by him during the Copa America.
Only scored in 8 of Zenits 30 league games last season, his goals coming in short bursts of form.
Surprised Ideye Brown wasn't involved last night, guessing he is leaving.

I'm not convinced by him either. We've got a very poor record when it comes to splashing the cash. If anyone leaves i'd imagine it would be Anichebe.
OK, as expected, we lost to a much better team. No great shock. However, lessons can still be learned about our short comings.

We were very poor first half. But ultimately we will not play another team that good all season. Manchester City were sublime. Silva is on another level
Some pretty harsh assessments based on just one game.
The cleaners at ManCity get paid more than the whole of your first XI.
Some decent individual performances last night against one of the best two teams in the PL. Who, to be fair, were flying.
Be kinder to yourselves. With a little luck - that all teams need - you should be fine!

The James Chester signing makes sense to me because McAuley could be in his last season and Olsson could be allowed to leave. I believe Chester was brought in as a CB.
I don't think Albion should play 442 against the Manchester Citys, the Chelseas, the Arsenals and the Manchester Uniteds. Their midfields will inevitably be stronger than any 4 we can put out, and it's just inviting trouble.
I don't really know what was behind letting Mulumbu go, but I'm not sure he'd have made any dfference last night.
All our midfielders were made to look very ordinary last night because we were up against a really good side.
I don't think there's any need for deep soul-searching losing to Manchester City. We move on and we continue with our team strengthening.

Somebody's been on the cooking sherry! Foster's injured.
I just thought it might be an idea to sign a player who's had a pre season or, god forbid, sign them earlier in the summer.
What did you think of Chester's performance last night JH?
Brunt impressed me, very unerrated player imo

I thought he did as well as he could as a CB asked to play at RB against the most expensive winger in the PL.
Question...
Did you celebrate City's goals?

Yep, I always cheer when we concede a goal
Do you play pocket billiards every time Pulis appears on screen?
As for Chester, he was awful, as was McClean.
Yes it was Man City but their performances need to improve.
He can't wait to say 'told you so'.
keep waiting
I said Anichebe was a waste of money and you defended him. I told you so!
The whole team was poor. But we will not play a better team than that all season. They were as good as I've seen in a long time
