Lansbury.
There's £15m of talent at the club right now. And you still complain.
***********************************
Actually, it's probably more like £14million, but I get your drift.
If the brand of beer you buy isn't very good and getting worse over time, you would select a different brand rather than worrying about the making of it etc. That's the thing with things like that but generally not an option for football fans, so they get more concerned where things seem to be heading down the pan.
A very good post left club but you assume that the source of all this was the NEP.
BBC have confirmed that the source was from within the club. The club briefed various media sources according to Sky Sports, which is very different to a newspaper creating a rumour and spreading gossip.
This came from Forest. Perhaps someone within Forest said something they shouldn't. Perhaps they got the wrong end of the stick after overhearing Fawaz at dinner, "who will rid me of this meddlesome priest" type thing.
It matters not, because reputable news outlets such as the BBC and Sky are saying it came from the club. So it's not a bunch of Derby fans working for the NEP gossiping on Twitter as you suggest....
Ray.
Convince me things are going down the pan.
Not newspaper nothingness. But genuinely 'down the pan'.
Blackstarr.
Where have you seen an official statement from the club about Lansbury going?
'Official sources within the club have stated that' ......... BBC/sky/NEP .... Name names or it's just made up.
If enough people retweet something, it doesn't make it true.
TLP, if you want to limit your thoughts to the individual match days then it is up to you, and I have neither the time or inclination to review any contention/concerns about the club. What I do object to us you calling people who are concerned with the running of the club "muppets" etc and having a big rant at them.
I think some expect all fans to become some sort of performance sea lion, clapping away on queue and not bothered by anything else around that. That's up to the individual and I guess more would be like you desire if we were chucked more fishy treats
Don't be silly left post. Serious journalism works through contacts on the inside. How do you think that major transfer or sacking news is broken through the media before the club announces it?
As an example, how come Sky knew Pearson was sacked well before the club confirmed it? They're not prophets, they have to be done by people within the club. That's how they get breaking news.
We're not talking about the daily star here who sit and roll a dice with various players names on to make up transfer news. Sky have a pretty good track record for getting these kind of things right.
If both Sky and the BBC say that club sources briefed the media, then you can be sure that it's different from people on making stuff up.
You never see an official statement from the club until something has been concluded. In this case it hasn't. Doesn't mean nothing was going on....
Burnley express says its a done deal with Lansbury travelling north sky sports news report a medical tonight from 2 different sources so lets wait for tonights team sheet Ray football not pool !!!

"As an example, how come Sky knew Pearson was sacked well before the club confirmed it? They're not prophets, they have to be done by people within the club. That's how they get breaking news."
I thought they all reported he was sacked about 6 months before he actually was!!?? Is that great inside journalism? Or just making things up?
Also - I am not saying I'm 100% correct. Observations & opinions from outside our club (eg. blackstarr) always help to define a clearer picture of what's going on. Btw I am obviously taking a slightly more pro club stance than I actually feel here.
But why are so many of our 'fans' so quick to pick out the worst case scenarios?? Where's the
'well done fawaz for backing DF?!'
Ray. I see the positive (based on actual information, from defined sources).....
You see the worst (based on)..........?
Haters gonna hate
Arf arf arf
Is that better?
Seriously though, it's a bit unfair to suggest I am a "hater ", I've defended our ownership on quite a lot of occasions but it got past a point where I just couldn't ignore certain things any longer. I don't hate them, I don't Tweet abuse to them but I have little confidence in their ability to run a football club in the Championship, invest money wisely etc. Sorry, that's just where we are at.
You never know the short-term appointment of Bevington may help but I have my doubts
I'm always behind the team whatever, just not entirely so the owners
Waggy, are you saying that Jimmy Anderson is reporting this?
I'm with Ray on this. It's mistake after mistake. I also blame Fawaz entirely for the FFP embargo and distinctly remembering him saying it wouldn't be anything to worry about. I also blame him for chucking £30k+ contracts at the likes of the Algerians, etc, that led to the embargo.
I'm fully behind the team on the pitch and wouldn't ever be any other way but I have little confidence in Fawaz as all the evidence suggests so far that he backs himself to the hilt and doesn't learn from mistakes. The endless winding up orders are an embarrassment, for example.
Every over-reaction has an equal and oppersite over-reaction-reaction.
We're not selling Lansbury...
Great! We're keeping key players and building a foundation.
We're selling Lansbury for 4 million.....
Great! Personally think he's very overrated and inconsistent, replace with a dedicated 7-8/10 anyday.
We can't really lose either way
TLP, actually Sky got the first Pearson sacking spot on. They took a lot of stick for it but when senior contacts in the club and those like Lineker, still associated with it, confirmed the owners had sacked Pearson and then reversed the decision, there were a few vocal fans who looked daft.
The second time Sky said he'd been sacked, the club confirmed it the next day.
All I'm saying here is no smoke without fire. For the likes of Sky and the Beeb to picking this up, this is more than just idle Twitter gossip. But hey, perhaps it's good it did get out.....
We're in an embargo, forest monkey. That's the point
Right back from tooooo many beers & 'fun' children's entertainment!! .....
Ray.... You and everyone else is entitled to any opinion you or they want. Too many people in my family have made sacrifices defending that right. So I'm certainly not saying 'shut up' or anything like that.
It's just that I really can't see how fawaz has done anything wrong ref Lansbury.
I don't think anyone can argue that his heart or his wallet are in the right place.
It's just that every time there is the slightest chance to have a pop at the bloke that got us out of the mire (and yes he did before any of you talk about debt write offs etc.) it seems that 'fans' are queuing up to have a go.
Let me elaborate on my position.... Hamer - I think needs some clarification. We tried to get him. It didn't work out. These things happen.
The relatively 'frequent' missed payments.... Again a bit of clarity please.
But other than that, I can't see what fawaz is supposed to do?
Get rid of Freedman, after tonight's fiasco again. Yes yet another useless Manager
What Fawaz needs to do is bring in an experienced person to act as CEO and be allowed to run things day to day. I defended him regularly up the point where the previous CEO walked and suggestion being he wasn't being allowed to do his job etc.
I personally believe if he brings in some back room staff into the financial, communication and day to day running of the club, then let them do their jobs with minimal interference; then it would be not only for benefit of the club but he'd enjoy it more as well.
We have had a constant them of communication, contractual and financial gaffes over the last few years. I can understand the passionate defence to a degree but things don't appear to be getting better on that front and we're struggling on the pitch. Difficult times....
I don't want to personally keep discussing these things but that's where we are, it is definitely not looking for things in order to have a go
