Subs: Baumann, Fofana, Carragher, Pied, Grenier, Gonalons, Soldado.

400 WORD LIMIT STARTS NOW:

Game Plan: We want to play fast flowing football passing the ball around. Our main achievement is to make them chase the ball about and when they start to tire create chances as they will go sloppy. Try to create chances in the 1st half as well and when we lose the ball get up in their faces and fon't give them any room to pass the ball. We also need to watch out for their counter attacking style which they usually play so we need to make sure there is plenty of cover in every position.

Lloris - A very solid goalkeeper who isn't beaten easily and we want that to continue. Collect everything that he can and he needs to caommand his area.

Lichsteiner and Cissokho - 2 very solid FB;s who like to move forward and attack so we need to push their wingers back. They have 2 very good wingers so we need to match their pace and win the tackles and then start to counter attack.

Godin and benatia - Expected to be up against one of the best strikers in the world so they both need to be on top form. Mark him tightly not allowing him to make runs over the top, turn away from our defence etc. We have to win everything in the air against them and win every tackle before we allow any chances.

Inler and Denisov - 2 solid midfielders who know how to play football. They both play a little bit deeper than CM usually but I want them to play CM and not leave a big enough gap from midfield to attack. I want Denisov to play the passes out wide towards our lethal wingers and our attack and I want Inler to make the crunching tackles and not allow any runners from midfield.

Mertens and Willian - I want them to use their pace to get past the FB's who aren't very strong at all. Their defence I'm expecting is going to play quite deep against us so we need to drive at them with pace and deliver useful crosses. They need to look for the attackers and even try a get a chance with the keeper. Buffon is still class but is a old goalkeeper who will find it hard to get down to the corners so all shots must be in the corners.

Lamela - he has played superb in these first 3 games so he needs to grow in confidence and take a lot of confidence away from the last 3 games and take it into this one. Pull one of the defenders out of position leaving Cavani in a 1v1 with the defender. Look for through balls to Cavani and try and play them through to the wingers if possible. Also try and get a few shots in and test the goalkeeper. Aim for the corners as Buffon won't reach them.

Cavani - I need him to be on top form for this game making runs over the top if he can and trying to get the ball in useful areas. When in a 1v1 he needs to aim for the corners Buffon is world class but won't reach them down there at his age. When he gets chances he can't be missing them in a game this crucial.

SUBS:

If Winning (70 mins):

Lamela Off - On Gonalons - Gonalons to go CM with Inler and Denisov

If Drawing (65 mins):

Mertens Off - On Soldado - Soldado up front with Cavani and Willian AM

If Losing (65 mins):

Willian Off - On Soldado - Go up front with Cavani and Lamela, Mertens AM

Penalties: Di Natale

400 word brief:
Goalkeeper:
Buffon is the best keeper in the league, if not the world. I have faith in him to minimise the opposition’s attacking threat. Today, we’re looking at short, quick distribution to suit our free flowing counter attack style.

Defenders:
The defence must work as a unit today. That means covering all gaps left open and making sure no single player in the back 4 is overrun at any point. We want a fairly deep line with little forward movement from the wing backs and I expect you to keep their forwards and attacking midfielders away from our goal. Short passes across the back 4 and to the midfield are also required. Martinez and Chiellini, you are two of the best defenders in the league and so I expect you to nullify every attack that comes your way. Don’t let me down.

Midfielders:
If the defence is looking weak at any area, Motta and Flamini will be looking to fill that gap and add reassurance through n umbers. If the defence is holding firm, Motta and Flamini will sweep in front of the back 4 to break up attacks through the middle of the park and the wings. The two of them will be expected to cover Pirlo’s playmaker role as well by making many passes to the attacking midfielders.

Attacking midfielders:
These players will help out at the back when necessary but, for the most part, they are expected to play a free flowing, aggressive attacking game. They will swap positions with each other and Di Natale all game to add confusion and will look to use their fantastic technical ability to play through the opposition defence with the pass and move style they do so well.
Diego, Hernanes and Gaitan are all fantastic on the ball and I their great technical ability coupled with their expansive passing range will allow them to unlock any defence in the league and I expect them to be no different here.

Forwards:
With Di Natale starting, we will play a ground game with Di Natale looking to break the offside trap and use his pace and skill to get beyond the defence and calmly slot into the back of the net. He will also come deep because of our free flowing system and will swap places with the attacking midfielders at times to pull the defence out of position.

Substitutions:

If losing:
70 minutes: Matri for Hernanes - Matri joins Di Natale up front and looks to use his pace and strength to get beyond the defence.

75 minutes: Piatti on for Flamini - Piatti looks to use his technical ability to run at the defence with the ball from deep and to drive the team forward.

80 minutes: Bastos for Diego - Gaitan to the right wing, Bastos on the left. Both will look to charge down the flank and whip the ball in for Matri to get on the end of.

If drawing:
70 minutes: Matri for Hernanes - Matri joins Di Natale up front and looks to use his pace and strength to get beyond the defence.

75 minutes: Piatti on for Flamini - Piatti looks to use his technical ability to run at the defence with the ball from deep and to drive the team forward.

80 minutes: Bastos for Diego - Gaitan to the right wing, Bastos on the left. Both will look to charge down the flank and whip the ball in for Matri to get on the end of.

If winning:
70 minutes: N'koulou for Flamini - Swaps positions with Martinez. Martinez and Motta look to hold the middle of the park against any opposition midfielders.

80 minutes: Lovren for Hernanes - Alter to a 5-2-2-1 with Diego and Gaitan starting to drift further out wide to drag the defence out and help Di Natale.

85 minutes: Bastos for Diego - Gaitan to the right wing, Bastos to the left. Both wingers look to help in defence and attack and, ultimately secure the wings from any threats.

Is Cesar your 1st choice GK btw, as he is on his way out of Inter it seems as Handinovic gonna be there No.1

posted on 13/7/12

Well if your fedup of Wolves then yeah why not..

Southampton, Reading, x would be a challenge anyway

I mean if you take over Blackburn as temp boss you would get 6 of their best players

ie
Evra, Ruiz, Gervinho, nene, Veloso, gargano for example so would give you a base for a decent squad

As for Cesar i dont know where he will end up or he could well refuse to move as he has two years left...

Any good keepers available thats the thing??
