the problem would be the midfield behind them

I think the problem with playing

Sanchez - Giroud - Walcott

is that it will end up

-----------Walcott -
Nobody - Giroud - Nobody
---------- Sanchez

That's why we have a combination

Ramsey, Cazorla and Ozil.

Sanchez and Bellerin

Target man Giroud for playing away

There are two types of pace though - player speed across the ground, and speed of movement of the ball - which often get conflated. You don't necessarily need really quick players if you are able to move the ball quickly and drag opposition players around that way.

The problem is when we start with a really poor tempo

Win lose or draw, the wrong team has been picked yet again and my optimism for this season has already vanished. Wenger clearly cannot see where we need to improve in the team and where our strengths are. In 3 Games with Walcott up front we scored 9 goals with him scoring 4 of them and assisting another. The 5 games with Giroud up front we have scored 1 goal, a Tyler Blackett OG resulting from Walcott coming off the bench. But to then not only leave out Walcott but our only genuine wide player in Ox is criminal. Giroud and Ramsey have been awful for a long time and do not warrant a place in the starting XI. We may win today but we won't win anything this season playing this team.

Ox is not just pace but direct pace. Prepare to see meaningless one twos around the palace box today.

Even the first goal was a very poor set up for a freekick really. Wenger said he knew we would be in trouble even the set piece was taken and I agree with him. Left Cech in no man's land.

Probably right...that is why I wanted Wenger to sign a proper DM. Just to have the option to change tactics. If you cant score on the day, make sure you dont concede.

Little old palace and little old West Ham, what could go wrong, we could put anyone out and win these games....

I guess our players also feel this way.

Cabaye is a great signing for Palace, would have had him at Arsenal over ARteta

Love seeing demands for Walcott to be upfront from some of the same people whom complain he can't play there.

Don't know what AW is doing, I'm beginning to wonder if he's being over-cautious with Walcott. We have two players CRITICAL to title chase success. Coq and Theo. Doesn't seem too worried about Coq (little hard man) but IMO he's wrapping Theo in cotton wool. Probably much to the player's frustration.

if we win the title it wont be because of coq or theo

Question is if Cabaye would have come to fight for his place at Arsenal. He left Paris because of less game time.

Palace have got a good squad this season, though, think they'll do well - probably a top half finish unless Pards screws it up.

Dont know about you but I feel this game today will define our season....
