MrTweedy regarding the issue of buying a striker.

As utd have also seen there is not a huge amount of top quality centre forwards out there at the moment and even less are available.

To buy a really top CF you are probably not talking much change out of 50 million.

Out of curiosity, who do you think Arsenal should go for?

You've hit the nail on the head. It's very difficult as the only strikers in the world I'd say "spend as much money as it takes" are never going to be sold. Talking about people like Aguero - would pay any money it took to get him at Arsenal but more chance of Chambers not looking lost at sea.

Realistically, someone like Benzema who has been talked about a lot - and I say realistically but I mean "no chance" yet again.

If he does go for a striker, I expect he'll look at someone like Cavani, or could have gone for Jackson Martinez before he moved. My concern is that he'll say "we have Welbeck".

" I read a couple of pundits saying Ozil and Sanchez are not "team" players,"

Which pundit said that about Sanchez

There's isn't really many good strikers out there who we can realistically get. But if we can't get a striker it's essential we get another good DM, and probably CB.

If we have a solid base then we can play likes of ox Walcott, and Sanchez all together. And they would all get goals.

Sanchez definitely is a team player. He tracked back a lot last night, and won the ball back. Especially when he was at fault for giving it away. Ozil you can argue isn't, but he's not that sort of player. It's fine to have 1 player that will just be avalible to play good passes and make things happen in an attacking sense. But you need to build a team to accommodate that.

That's not quite what he's saying though is it? He's saying they need to lead the less experianced players. Take on more responsibilty.

Mr Tweedy Ox, I see what you are saying and not wumming I dont think the worlds top centre forwards would come to Arsenal.

So do you take a gamble on someone like Charlie Austin or Berahino?

It's a fair comment.

Wouldn't take either as I don't think they are any better than what we have. Likely bet is that we won't buy anyone else and will have to see what Giroud turns up each game.

On the Arsenal board it looks like they lost 3-0 so it's par for the course.

Irish this is why I couldn't understand some of our fans being upset at us signing Benteke. Who else were we realistically going to sign better than him? I was well pleased we got him and apart from a couple of missed chances I think he's been very good.

I would have Oxlade-Chamberlain and Walcott at Anfield any day. The Ox would walk straight into our team, Walcott would certainly be knocking on the door. Two quite outstanding players, and each only a sub!

Personally I'm happy with a point and the determined defending in the second half; delighted with the energy and creativity of the first half.

Overall satisfied with the result (seemed fair to me) and elements of our performance.

1) Benteke doesn't worry me, he's at a new club and trying hard to impress - that shot seemed to me to be someone making sure they hit the target. 9 times out of 10 that would have been enough to score, unfortunately Cech is an outstanding keeper and made him pay. Btw, Cech's save from Coutinho was absolutely fantastic, unbelievable reach.

2) No overly concerned. See above re-Benteke and Sturridge, who is still our best striker IMO, is yet to return.

3) Gomez has been a real bonus. I think he'll end up at CB (sooner rather than later I hope, maybe some league cup games there) but at the moment the kid is playing without fear.

4) Like a talented player getting used to the league and getting his fitness together. His ball into Benteke was fantastic and his interplay was very promising. Looking forward to seeing what he can do at full-fitness and knowing his team mates patterns of play.

Arsenal were being touted pre-season as title contenders and we've just matched them on their own turf. Three games into the new season with a host of new players? Yeah, that'll do for me.

We usually go to Emirates play open attacking football miss chances and then get hammered by arsenal. Yesterday was different, we were solid, still played some decent stuff and missed chances, but managed to withstand sustained pressure against one of the best attacking teams in the league. We have started well.

Grizzly, apologies for the delay in responding. Ibe, Markovic, Allen. He could play in all of their positions and make a better job of it.
