Has he played 312 games up front?
Same team as NUFC except herrera for schneiderlin, and fellaini upfront for rooney.
Basically let rooney know hes not immune to being dropped when he doesnt perform.
The despair squid has surfaced.
i swear he plauyed holding midfielder for a fair few years
I didn't realise Fellaini had played 312 games as a striker.
There's probably no one on this forum who would want Fellaini as our Plan A for attack. At the same time, there are decreasing numbers who would dispute that he can be an unusual Plan B (or C) who offers a very different outlet and different sort of challenge to defenders when our default tactics aren't working.
Every stretty comment or article should just be auto translated to "Why, why, why can't we be like we were in 1999.... Whhhhhyyyyyy "
Yeah play him in goal instead. That solves the DDG situation.
Stretty didn't enjoy the 99 CL final, we didn't win it in good enough time,
I totally, 100% agree.
When did we start been ok with the Fellaini's of the world? While I'm at it, how have most of you managed to build Herrera up to Iniesta standards?
It's all a bit odd.
The only time I can recall him playing in the #9 role was at home to WBA which didn't go very well.
Happy to see him in the #10 role (preferably as a plan B) but I don't really see much benefit as a #9.
Even though Fellaini can be quite effective as an attacking threat, having spent all this money it is rather depressing that we have come to this. I know the primary goal is to win games but you'd hope we would do it with a bit of class.
1999? What kind of joke team doesn't have like for like replacements when Keane and Scholes aren't available?
Also the drama would have been greater if the goals had been closer to the final whistle.
The '09 final was better. We lost but we got to see Barca play some lovely football

Stretty wasn't a United fan until after the 99 final.
The ironic thing about this article is the fact that Stretty is using it to have a go at Robb, yet this is exactly the sort of article Robb would write.
Fellaini played in midfield for Liege, not sure if it was Witsel or him that played the defensive role.
For everton he was used as an attacking midfielder, and LVG has used him there subsequently.
That's who he is now, a Peter Crouch type forward but with more strength.
Fellaini was awesome against United in the 10 role on the opening game of the season a few years back. If you build your strategy round him he can be unplayable.
I just don't particularly enjoy watching teams who use that strategy.

I often bring him off the bench when I am playing FIFA and winning comfortably to stick him in nets for the last 15 minutes. There is nothing more amusing than seeing him stood on the sidelines with his big afro, stretching off in his keeper's kit as he waits for the subbed player to trot off. Well, there are probably a few things that are more amusing, but it does make me chuckle.

I am guessing Robb filtered him after his comment, which in all fairness was spot on.
'Insults? really? Coming from the guy who invented a girlfriend and also spent his entire holiday on a football website because he is that much of a fecking loser'.

Are you currently filtered by Robb? I haven't seen you two at each other for at least a week now.
Problem is most don't understand that Fellaini can be very effective in the advanced midfielder role where he gets into the box on the end of crosses but also holds the ball up well and also gets around the pitch well and breaks up play.
He's obviously not a world class CM and no one says he is. But he doesn't just stay up front. The Chelsea game last season at OT was a demonstration of this. He played as an advanced midfielder but also shackled himself to Fabregas and stopped him playing his game. He covered more ground than anyone and still got forward well.
There's a reason LVG likes him so much. He is a player that offers so much. Very handy squad player but also when played very rarely lets you down when given specific instructions.

He blood well should have been, Post, he was up against Carrick and Valencia in our back four.
Fellaini seems to be the new fall guy ( replacing #blameevans) However, he is adept at controlling the ball, brings other players into play, ties up defenders leaving space for others to thrive. A center forward!! never - however probably an upgrade on the current Rooney

I filtered VC because he offers nothing to any debate whatsoever. Literally comes on this site to bully people. Suffers from small man syndrome and blatantly wouldn't say the stuff he says on here in person.
Are you currently filtered by Robb?

Of course. He said something stupid again, I pulled him up for it. He hit the filter button. It is an endless cycle.

There is that, VC, but they bypassed our midfield and every long ball became a problem. Like I said, not pretty but can be devastating.
I never want to see United play like that obviously.
